I'm currently a first-year student in the Linguistics PhD program at the University of Michigan. My research is centered on language ideology, with particular interests in speech perception and syntax.
I received my Bachelors in Linguistics, German, and Japanese from the University of Oklahoma. Following a small break, I pursued a Master's in Linguistics Theory and Typology at the University of Kentucky. My thesis examined the role of social concord in syntactic acceptability. After graduation, I was a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) in Thailand in the 2023-2024 cohort.
Outside of school, I enjoy games (board, video, card, table-top roleplaying), tea, and reading. I've recently finished Howl's Moving Castle (audiobook) and Pirate Enlightenment, or the Real Libertalia (physical book).
