Effective date: September 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NKA BillBook ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use our Android application, published under the package name com.naveen.billbook. We built this App to run primarily on your own device, and this policy reflects that — most of your data never leaves your phone.
Your business data (parties, bills, items, transactions) is stored locally on your device, not on our servers — we don't operate a server that stores your business records.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.
If you choose to use Google Sign-In and cloud backup, your backup file is stored in your own Google Drive, under your control — not on servers we operate.
If you use the AI-powered item import feature, the image or PDF you select is sent to Google's Gemini API to extract item details — this only happens when you explicitly use that feature.
You can delete your data at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling the App.
The App is a billing and inventory tool, so it stores what you enter to help run your business — this may include:
Business profile details (name, address, phone, GST number, bank/UPI details, logo)
Party (customer/supplier) names, phone numbers, and addresses
Bills, invoices, transactions, payments, expenses, and item/inventory records
This information is stored in a local database on your device using SQLite. We do not have access to it, and it is not transmitted to us.
If you choose to import a party from your phone's contact list, the App reads the name and phone number of the specific contact(s) you select, and saves that information into the App's local database as a new party record. The App does not access your contacts unless you explicitly use this feature, and it does not read your full contact list in the background.
Feature
What happens
Business logo upload
An image you pick is saved locally on your device and used on your printed invoices.
AI-powered item import
An image or PDF you select is sent to Google's Gemini API to extract item details (names, prices, quantities), which are then saved to your local database.
Attachments on transactions
Files you attach (like a receipt photo) are stored locally on your device.
The App uses Android's built-in Photo Picker for these features, which does not require broad photo-library permissions — you select exactly which image or file to share with the App.
If you choose to sign in with Google to enable cloud backup, we use Google Sign-In to authenticate you and Google Drive's API to store an encrypted backup of your local database in a private folder within your own Google Drive account. We do not have access to this backup file — it is stored under your Google account, governed by your own Google storage and permissions.
If you enable app-lock with fingerprint or face unlock, this is handled entirely by your device's operating system. The App never receives, stores, or transmits your biometric data — it only receives a yes/no confirmation that you were authenticated.
We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs that track you across other apps or websites.
We do not sell or rent your information to third parties.
We do not have a server that stores your business, customer, or transaction data.
Any information the App handles is used solely to provide the App's functionality to you:
Generating invoices, bills, and reports
Tracking payments, expenses, and inventory
Sending you local notifications (e.g. low-stock or slow-moving item alerts) — generated and shown entirely on your device
Backing up your data to your own Google Drive, if you enable this
Extracting item details from a photo or document you choose to import via AI
The App uses the following third-party services, only for the specific purposes below:

Purpose
Google Sign-In
Authenticating you if you choose to enable cloud backup

Your business data is stored locally in a SQLite database on your device.
Backups, if enabled, are stored in your own Google Drive account.
We recommend using your device's own screen lock and the App's optional biometric app-lock feature to protect your data if your device is shared or lost.
Access & export: All your data is visible within the App itself, and can be exported as PDF reports or backups at any time.
Deletion: You can delete individual records within the App, clear the App's data via Android Settings, or uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data.
Backup deletion: If you've used Google Drive backup, you can delete the backup file directly from your Google Drive.
