We are excited to announce our new expansion teams: FC Woodstream and RV United!
Congratulations to Real SJAC on their repeat winning the coveted Orbis Aureum.
Congratulations to Jake Narvid on Atletico GPAC for his Olympic Trials cut. The entire NJSFA will be rooting for you.
Reminder to all teams: the league is meant to be fun, without violence or injury. Failure to comply with this simple policy will result in player ejection, suspension, and/or other ramifications.
1. YBCC FC
This team, despite being hit hard with the injury bug, has found a way to win time after time. And win BIG. After narrowly beating SJAC and RV, they clapped Woodstream 6 goals to none. Flaco has continued to dominate the competition but will injuries to Nacho and Captain Michael Sheehan hurt them come playoff time?
2. Real SJAC
This team has shown they're still a team not to shove aside. However, after losing to YBCC FC Week I they are clearly no longer the best in the NJSFA as of now. Should Coach Andersen bench Jonny Balakas? Or does the team need some more time to find their form once more?
3. Atletico GPAC
Are we in an alternate universe where GPAC can actually play football? Because they stomped on Larchmont with a 4-1 victory. However with the loss of goalie Matt Murphy can they find a new goalie who can anchor the defense as successfully as the Navy boy?
4. Fox Hollow FC
Coming out of the season hot but this team lose some of their momentum with their injuries and recent forfeit? Bobby Irwin may have something to say about that with his knack for finding the goal.
5. Voorhees CF
This team did win their first game against JW Women's United FC but have not been challenged yet. They were scheduled to play Fox Hollow but unfortunately it was never played. This team needs to play more proven competition to get bumped further up the power rankings.
6. RV United
This team has shown they can compete but have failed to turn their production into winning football. If they can string together some wins this team will certainly climb the power rankings.
7. Olympique de Larchmont
They lost to GPAC, enough said. No players to look out for because they are a bunch of delinquents who can't score to save their life.
8. FC Woodstream
The problem with this team is their inexperience and lack of consistency. They have the occasional amazing moment but fail to keep up the great play. Look for Kevin Foley to come up big on defense for this team to have a chance.
9. JW Women's United FC
Looks like this team is tanking for the number one overall pick. Trust the Process is the slogan of this team. Hopefully their fans buy in and don't lose faith because this may take centuries. A player to keep an eye on is Grace Yoon. Will JW look to find immediate help for her or continue to waste away her prime developing their youth?
1. YBCC FC
With the acquisition of Ryan Cherfane, it seems that the Boys in Red have finished their puzzle. Despite close contention, the team proves to finish the match ahead, puling away with 9 points. Flaco has been dominating as usual, finding chemistry with Cherfane, and Dermot Sheehan. However, this will be no cakewalk; captains Michael Sheehan (shoulder) and Nacho (knee) are both indefinitely out, yet, the team is finding ways to win without these key veteran players. They will rely on leadership in Reid Greer and Tommy Schurer, and a powerful attack core to continue their table dominance.
2. Real SJAC
The champions continue to show championship caliber. El Swimico proves that the Royal Gators are ready to compete. Their addition at attacking-mid with Tommy Stankus and Drew Antes proves vital in their fast play. Bad boy Christian Alcamo has pocked goals and is breaking for a potential Golden Boot run. Their contest with OdL will test Matt Crysler's leadership, never count out the champions.
3. Fox Hollow FC
Will Quay has brought strength into his lineup in transferring Jack Lilley over. Bobby Irwin has been playing spectacular attack. With the Clark brothers, the team has potential to play the tables and turn some heads.
4. Atletico GPAC
Controversy. Captain Matt Murphy (academic) has departed for his indoc at Annapolis. Who is his replacement? Mike Donaghy, who has played in Wales, paired with Tyler Guadagno, who has played in Spain. The fishier thing is that they both have almost no swim data and quickly changed their IG bios to include "GPAC Swim." Do we buy it? Some do, some don't; the verification has the league shaking its head. Nevertheless, new leadership in Tanner Jones combined with veteran experience in Vinny Flacco, with a touch of Swedish import in Eric Hinderup will prove for an interesting season for the Yellows.
5. Olympique de Larchmont
Their match with SJAC tells that OdL no longer the powerhouse of 2019, but rather the slop-jop of the 2018 regular season. Veterans Giovanni Parikh and Erik Jensen will push their stars in Martinez McCarthy and Stirling Buchanan-Jacobs forward. The Shirtless 'Cudas may be in for a long haul this season if their management cannot pull it together.
6. Voorhees CF
Without Andrew Pham (personal), the team needs to show their prominence. If they are trying for a high table standing, Anthony Moon and interim captain Colin Seybold must rally onwards. They have not yet shown the hidden talents the squad certainly has in Jacob Katz and Jason Griffith.
7. RV United
Christian Overton enthusiastically brings his tardy squad to the pitch. Though their talent is promising, their fruits have not yet been reaped. They are scrappy and play with heart; Dylan Walter and Matt Clevanger aim to move the basketball boys to the likes of the pitch.
8. Woodstream FC
In Kevin Foley, they trust? WO had a good contest with OdL and FH, but were blown out by YBCC. Will we see a mid-to-late season push?
9. JW Women's United FC
With new leadership in Erin Jensen, she will rely on Grace Yoon, and Katherine Skelly to pull the rest of the team's bogging weight. Please give me another name to report and net some gólasos, in the name of third-wave feminism.
