Golf Tournament

My name is Matthew Njos, and I am a senior at University High School. For my Senior Project I am organizing a memorial golf tournament in honor of my father, Jon Njos, who passed away unexpectedly last December. My father was a devoted member of the AA community, an active participant in the Njos Friends Men's Group at Timberline Church in Windsor, and a respected top salesman at Cowboy Dodge Chrysler Jeep, Cheyenne. His love for golf and dedication to family and community touched many lives.

The golf tournament will be held on May 17th, 8:00 am at Boomerang Links, and all proceeds will benefit two meaningful causes:

The Grief Center – providing support to families coping with loss, a resource that helped me during a difficult time.

The Njos Scholarship Fund – a new scholarship supporting high school students in our community who have overcome adversity, such as the loss of a parent, to continue pursuing their education and goals.

Njos Family Scholarship FundThis fund will be used to create a scholarship that aims to honor a beloved father by supporting students who have lost a loved one and share his commitment to community involvement, perseverance, and leadership. A parent passing away can completely shift a child’s familiar family dynamics, take away a critical source of emotional and financial support, and push a student into turmoil. With all of this change and sadness to sort through, it can be difficult for a student to imagine how to move forward or get back on track with their goals. This scholarship will be awarded to a young student in Colorado who has lost a parent or other loved one.
