ANNOUNCEMENTS
WHO WE ARE
The New Jersey JCI Senate is an independent organization, with its own constitution and bylaws, associated with the United States JCI Senate. The members of the NJ JCI Senate are those who have been conferred by the JCI organization with the recognition as JCI Senators and who continue its active membership through dues and activites.
The purposes of the NJ JCI Senate are twofold.
Foremost, we seek to build and promote fellowship among our Senators through our publications, meetings, and social activities.
Second, but just as important to us, is to promote the Junior Chamber program. We do this by offering our assistance and the knowledge and experience of our members to the Junior Chamber organization.
The United States JCI Senate stands ready to help the JCI USA (United States Junior Chamber) and any local chapter, district, region, or state officer. This assistance is always available for the asking.
A JCI Senatorship is the highest honor which can be bestowed upon a current or past member by Junior Chamber International for outstanding service to the organization. It provides a unique means for recognizing a member’s outstanding achievements, and also confers upon that individual a “Life Membership” in Junior Chamber International, although this status does not exempt a member from paying regular membership dues.
A JCI Senatorship may be given to any local Junior Chamber member in appreciation of services rendered at any level of the organization, and is subject to the approval of the local, state, and national Presidents. Current local members must have a minimum of five years of membership before they may be nominated for a JCI Senatorship. (Application information can be found here.)
We are recognized by the United States State Department as official Goodwill Ambassadors around the world.
OUR 2025-2026 SLOGAN
Theme: Fueling the Future, One Flame at a Time
Good morning, JCI Senators, friends, and extended family of the New Jersey JCI Senate.
It is with great honor, humility, and excitement that I stand before you today as your new State President. I am deeply grateful for the trust and support you’ve shown me, and I look forward to serving alongside each of you as we continue to write the next chapter of our organization’s proud history.
This year, I’ve chosen the theme “Fueling the Future, One Flame at a Time.” It’s a reminder that progress doesn’t always come from grand gestures or sweeping changes. Often, it starts with a single spark — a conversation, a connection, a moment of mentorship, or a selfless act of service. Each of us carries a flame. And when we come together, those flames unite to create something powerful, something lasting.
As JCI Senators, we are the torchbearers of a legacy built on leadership, impact, and purpose. Our mission now is not only to preserve that legacy, but to ignite new passion in the generations that follow. Whether it’s mentoring new Jaycees, engaging in meaningful projects, or strengthening bonds within our Senate family, every action — no matter how small — fuels the future.
This year, I invite you to join me in sharing your flame — your wisdom, your energy, your experiences — with others. Let’s rekindle old friendships, spark new initiatives, and light the way for those still discovering the power of service and leadership.
Together, let’s make this year one of warmth, growth, and momentum. Let’s fuel the future — one flame at a time.
Thank you, and I’m truly excited for what lies ahead.
With heartfelt gratitude and purpose,
2025-2026 Stevenson Van Derodar Fueling the Future. One Flame at a Time
