WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
The New Jersey JCI Senate is an independent organization, with its own constitution and bylaws, associated with the United States JCI Senate. The members of the NJ JCI Senate are those who have been conferred by the JCI organization with the recognition as JCI Senators and who continue its active membership through dues and activites.
The purposes of the NJ JCI Senate are twofold.
Foremost, we seek to build and promote fellowship among our Senators through our publications, meetings, and social activities.
Second, but just as important to us, is to promote the Junior Chamber program. We do this by offering our assistance and the knowledge and experience of our members to the Junior Chamber organization.
The United States JCI Senate stands ready to help the JCI USA (United States Junior Chamber) and any local chapter, district, region, or state officer. This assistance is always available for the asking.
A JCI Senatorship is the highest honor which can be bestowed upon a current or past member by Junior Chamber International for outstanding service to the organization. It provides a unique means for recognizing a member’s outstanding achievements, and also confers upon that individual a “Life Membership” in Junior Chamber International, although this status does not exempt a member from paying regular membership dues.
A JCI Senatorship may be given to any local Junior Chamber member in appreciation of services rendered at any level of the organization, and is subject to the approval of the local, state, and national Presidents. Current local members must have a minimum of five years of membership before they may be nominated for a JCI Senatorship. (Application information can be found here.)
We are recognized by the United States State Department as official Goodwill Ambassadors around the world.
OUR 2025-2026 SLOGAN
Theme: Desiderata: Harmony and Peace in Leadership and Communities
Good morning, JCI Senators, friends, and extended family of the New Jersey JCI Senate.
The New Jersey JCI Senate is proud to announce its 2026–2027 theme: “DESIDERATA: Harmony and Peace in Leadership and Communities.” Inspired by the timeless message of the word Desiderata—a guide for living with wisdom, dignity, and purpose—this theme serves as a call for leaders to cultivate understanding, respect, and unity in a world that increasingly needs thoughtful and compassionate leadership. It reminds us that true leadership is measured not only by accomplishments, but by the positive impact we have on the lives of others.
Throughout the coming year, the New Jersey JCI Senate will focus on fostering harmony among our members, strengthening relationships across generations of leaders, and building bridges within the communities we serve. By embracing collaboration over division and service over self-interest, we can create environments where people feel valued, heard, and empowered to contribute their unique talents. Harmony begins when individuals come together with a shared commitment to mutual respect and common purpose.
Peace in leadership is more than the absence of conflict—it is the presence of integrity, empathy, and vision. As JCI Senators, we are called to lead by example, demonstrating patience, understanding, and a willingness to listen. Through mentorship, volunteerism, and community engagement, we will continue to inspire others to become leaders who bring people together, encourage growth, and strengthen the fabric of our neighborhoods and organizations.
As we embark on this new year of service, we invite our members, partners, and friends to join us in embracing the spirit of DESIDERATA: Harmony and Peace in Leadership and Communities. Together, we can create a lasting legacy of unity, kindness, and meaningful action. By working hand in hand and leading with purpose, we will continue to fuel the future, strengthen our communities, and exemplify the highest ideals of the New Jersey JCI Senate.
