email sent to us on July 24, 2025:
Good Afternoon,
Today the Consumer Product Safety Commission released their recall notice on the Transpro E-Scooters brought up at the Seminar:
I expect a few more releases to come out about this soon from other agencies.
In the meanwhile, a Judge ordered the E-Bikes and E-Scooters that our Police Department confiscated to be disposed of after the retail stores appeal process ended. Thanks to our County Hazmat, we identified a company that properly disposes of Lithium-Ion batteries. Three 55-Gallon drums were delivered that we will be filling and disposing of ($1200 each). The frames can then be crushed and recycled and then PD can have all their trailers back that are currently full. If you need that company’s information you can reach out anytime.
Information was also provided towards amending proposed Senate and Assembly Legislation that looks to regulate E-Mobility Devices in the State to add the OSHA approved NRTL certifications to all E-Mobility Devices. Once progress is made on that I will advise. In the meanwhile, you can adopt your own municipal ordinance to protect your town.
Have a Safe Summer,
Ed
