Chris Connors, DiAnne Gove, and Brian Rumpf say they are effective representatives. How can one claim success when absent from work? Rumpf alone has not been present during a third of major legislative votes throughout 2016 and 2017. Whether this is due to unwillingness to work or a lack of strength and stamina elected office demands, this is a clear case of neglecting the people.

Connors, Gove, and Rumpf’s association with the “Gilmore Machine,” who is currently under federal investigation, raises questions of whether they have the legitimate concerns of hard working people in mind.

As the final weeks of the 2017 General Election approach, there has been interference with the democratic process by relying on underhanded tactics. Numerous White, Dobrowansky & Young campaign signs have been removed from local roadways, yet the incumbent’s signs have remained untouched. Is it the intention of the incumbent campaign and their supporters to deny the voters options on November 7th? Is the disappearing sign act a tactic to protect their titles and benefits as career politicians?

The people of the 9th Legislative District deserve to know they have a choice this election. The hard working citizens of District 9 deserve better. The good people of NJ deserve honest representation that is above dirty politics. The voters have a constitutional right to know they have a voice and deserve representation by legislators who will work hard for their interests.

It is imperative that you vote on November 7th and send a message that underhanded and self-serving politics are no longer welcome in LD9.

Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey Endorsement

I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey. I join the ranks of 43 other female, Democratic, legislative candidates on the ballot this November ~ Jill

According to The Center of American Women and Politics (CAWP), women hold a mere 36 of the 120 (30%) New Jersey legislative seats, down from last year's record of 37 women legislators (30.8%). "Women make up more than 50% of voters, however, their elected representation pales in comparison," said Weiner. "It is incumbent upon organizations such as ours to endorse and support these women candidates and break that glass ceiling." ~ WPCNJ

Health Care Roundtable Discussion

The LD9 ticket was joined by Geoff Ginter to discuss the recent Graham-Cassidy ACA Repeal and Replace Bill. We discussed the impact of repeal and replace on NJ citizens and the importance of health care for all.

Democrats 2000 Endorsement

We are proud to announce the Democrats 2000 endorsement of Ryan Young for Assembly. As an actively involved member of the Young Democrats, both at the State and County levels, we thank the Democrats 2000 for recognizing our commitment to Young Democrats and the issues affecting them.

Support Harvey Relief Efforts

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the Hurricane and Tropical Storm Harvey as it continues to dump inches of rain on Texas and Louisiana. In New Jersey, we are all too familiar with the effects of a catastrophic storm. We must rally together to get much needed supplies and resources to the ever-growing citizens and towns in crisis. There are several donation centers set up around the state who are collecting items to send to Texas and Louisiana. We need to support these efforts the same way we were supported after Superstorm Sandy. Consider donating today! Our fellow Americans are counting on us.

Mourning the loss of an advocate

It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Senator Jim Whelan of Atlantic City, a man we had the pleasure to meet and work with. Senator Whelan was an advocate who cared deeply for his work and the citizens of NJ and Atlantic County. Our thoughts and condolences go our to the entire Whelan family during this difficult time.

NJEA Endorsement

We are proud to announce NJEA’s endorsement of Jill Dobrowansky for Assembly. As a life long educator, we thank the NJEA for recognizing our strong support of education and our children with this endorsement.

Ryan and Jill recently visited the WOBM studios to discuss issues affecting NJ citizens with News Director, Tom Mongelli.

Response to Disrespectful Behavior

This weekend, Governor Chris Christie publicly berated a member of the public at a baseball game, referring to the citizen as a “big shot”. This may seem like a mundane event, however this is a symptom of a larger and more pervasive issue. Whether it is the arrogance of silence on key issues and misconduct of those in government from Assembly people Gove and Rumpf, or the outright condescension of Governor Chris Christie, the hard working and respectable people of our great state deserve better.

In a state where our children are taught that harassment, intimidation, and bullying are not acceptable behavior and to stand up against oppression, the silence from our elected officials is deafening. The Governor and Representatives elected to serve the citizens of legislative district nine should learn the same lessons we teach our children. It is time to send representatives to Trenton who will stand-up against disrespectful bullies.

Transgender Ban Statement

One year ago, our military leaders issued the order removing all gender orientation discrimination allowing anyone with the desire to volunteer their lives for this country to do so. Recently, the POTUS revoked this order, stating freedom may be defended only by certain persons, dragging our country backwards into the discriminatory past.

Right now, there are thousands of transgender American men and women actively protecting our freedoms and liberties. Within the borders and waterways of New Jersey are three military bases and a Coast Guard Training Center, which serves and protects not only the United States but also the communities and residents of our great state. This ban threatens our national security, wasting millions of our tax dollars already spent on training our brothers and sisters in arms who now find themselves under attack by this administration. Additionally this reduces our military force and her readiness to defend freedom and democracy, and we can not stand for this as it is a violation of the values that our country was built on.

We are at a time when legislation has passed prohibiting health insurers, SHBP, SEHBP, health care providers, and Medicare from discriminating in providing coverage and services based on gender identity (A4568). Another significant piece of legislation that was passed requires the Commissioner of Education to develop guidelines for school districts regarding transgender students (S3067). Neither of these bills were supported by our current representatives.

The lack of support is wrong and detrimental towards living together in a peaceful, civilized society. In the face of discriminatory silence, we proudly stand with every member of our country and her military against this assault. It is time to send representatives to Trenton who will serve and fight to protect the rights and liberties of all citizens, not just chosen groups.
