When you first spawn in you will notice lots of different buildings, now don't be freighted as you will explore them all someday, but first you should start by heading towards the big emerald shop where you can obtain your first rod, and also learn about the main currency, Fyshalds.
After you get your first rod, follow the floating text that guides you downhill to The Pier, you will spend most of your gameplay down here, as this is your main income source, fishing. Down in the Pier there is a bank, many homes to investigate, Side Quests, Shops and much more!
After fishing some fish or treasures, you will probably wonder where to sell it. There are tons of villagers scattered around the pier that each serve their own purpose, but the early game ones have signs to show their purpose. With your new money you can visit other villagers to buy and upgrade your rod to catch even more fish. Some villagers also sell food/potion items to boost your fishing temporarily.
Is fishing taking too long? Try out the side quests scattered around the map, each of them give you a task to complete, some repeatable and others you cant, you can tell if it is a side quest if the villager has a book next to them, this is important in telling the player what the NPC wants.
If you want some a more permanent customizable upgrade to yourself, try out armor. There are countless armor shops scattered around the map, you can find them with the iron plus sign or the item frame with the iron chestplate. Armor can be useful in boosting speed and luck, but sometimes more rarer armor contains drawbacks like making you slower or unluckier in order to give you better boosts in return.
Don't enjoy fishing? That's OK! even though the sole purpose of Fysh is to Fish, you can always take the mining path. Obtain your first pickaxe from this exact villager in the picture shown, you can find him in near the main lobby in the City Square, from there you can look around the map for the breakable blocks you must search for.
That's Right! Custom music is built into the server to sound very medieval, You can select and customize music with these yellow wool shops that you can find scattered around the map.
You bet there is, most of the lore isn't even secret, others are hard to find, but upon reading each of the books, you can uncover hidden lore from prior generations who lived in these lands. Reading the lore is always helpful into understanding where secret locations are, as looking for them blindly is very difficult to near impossible. Lore books can be put together into giant pieces of text through a later side quest, and after reading them yourself, you can put together the timestamps to whatever seems best to you.
This is merchant Zho, he travels to new spots around the map every season and sells very rare and limited items, if you find his secret travel books you can figure out Zho's backstory and uncover and fight some horrors of his past.
The world is 1K by 1K, so not a whole lot, but with the thousands of individual homes to visit, and hundreds of villagers to talk to, it can seem very large. Lot's of areas will be blocked off by invisible barriers, this is a sign that these unavailable areas are in development and new NPC's, side quests and locations are in the process of being built together for the next season release.
There are tons of secrets across the entire world, 90% of the time you can only access or let alone understand them through lore scrolls, In this guide I won't spoil anything leaving it up to you.
