I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Sciences and an Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Cognitive Science at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. Prior to joining academia, I was working as a Senior Researcher in the Department of Survey Design and Methodology at GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences in Mannheim, Germany and before that as the Research Lead at Centre for Science of Student Learning in Delhi, India. I received my doctorate from The Ohio State University, USA in 2018. I completed my graduate studies in Statistics from University of Mumbai.

My research takes a two-pronged approach, advancing both statistical methodology and its applications. The methodological research I pursue are motivated by practical challenges I encounter when working with real datasets. I generally work with survey and experimental data.
Research Interests: Psychometrics, Categorical Data Analysis, Survey Research, and Data Quality Assessment
Application Areas: I am interested in applying novel and rigorous statistical methods to answer questions mostly in social science and public health research (however, I am open to other areas as well 🙂).

Financial Behavior and Literacy Assessment: My team has developed and piloted instruments to assess the financial behavior and literacy of Indian adults aged 18–45, and are now moving toward large-scale survey administration and validation.
Cognitive Engagement & Motivation - Understanding Student Well-being: Through this study we are interested in understanding the effect of engagement and motivation on well-being of undergraduate students.
Preparation for this project is underway and we are looking to expand our team.
Impact of Air & Sleep Quality on Academic Performance: This is a joint project with Prof. Anubha Goel and her team. We examine the impact of air quality on sleep quality of students and subsequently on their academic performance and motivation the next day.
