The NIU GymACT team competes both in the fall and spring semester, and is a subdivision of the NIU Gymnastics Club.
GymACT (Gymnastics Association of College Teams) is an organization of men’s gymnastics teams that is dedicated to maintaining and growing men’s collegiate gymnastics programs. GymACT teams are similar to college club teams but operate at much higher level than a regular club. This means more frequent practices, higher skill levels, and competitions against gymACT teams and NCAA varsity teams. Because NIU does not have an NCAA men’s gymnastics team, NIU GymACT gives college athletes who have no NCAA team to join the opportunity to compete at a higher level than a normal club program.
The NAIGC team competes during the spring semester.
The NAIGC team serves as both the "B" team for the NIU GymACT team, but is always open to adding members of ANY skill level. NAIGC exists by the motto, "for the love of the support". They seek to give anyone wanting to compete gymnastics at the collegiate level an opportunity to do so. NAIGC offers competition at the developmental level, level 9, and the NCAA level. The NAIGC men's team is led by club president, David Carlin. For more info on the Men's NAIGC team you can contact David at z1819918@students.niu.edu
