Northern Illinois university Cheerleading

The NIU Cheerleading Program is a nationally ranked competitive cheerleading team.

The Cheerleading team performs at:

-NIU Home Football games (Travels to some away games if selected by coach)

-NIU Men's Home Basketball games

-NIU Women's Home Basketball games

In addition, the team also represents NIU at many university and community events throughout the year. The NIU Cheerleading team will be attending the NCA College Nationals in April 2022 and have several different performances around Illinois in the early spring.

Cheerleading claims 2nd place in national competitionDeKALB — For the first time in university history, the cheerleading team finished No. 2 overall Friday in the National Cheerleaders Association Collegiate Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida.
