After working in a corporate job for more than 10 years things got a bit boring and an unanticipated situation presented an opportunity to throw my hands at a startup.
In 2017 when I cofounded SarvMaan by bootstrapping with three other partners and raising money from five individual investors. The startup got recognition from the government of India under the Startup India program. It operates in four cities in Maharashtra and has served 600+ customers by 2020.
Covid19 was a huge setback but being asset-light it survived a difficult time but had to scale down and I moved out to pursue my long-cherished dream of doing a world-class MBA.
Tinkering with assembled Computers in college
Offered hardware service during college to bridge the digital gap for students. I worked alongside a professional technician to build custom PCs and provide repairs, focusing on technical mastery and community support over profit.
Icecream seleler kid
My first brush with business was at age of 10 when my father bought home one of the very first refrigerators in my little village. Getting ice cream was very difficult in the 1990s as we could get it only when a pull cart ice cola seller would visit once or twice a week. This helped me establish my first venture which was selling ice-cola products. I made good money for an 11-year-old boy and it served me well as pocket money.
Greening the efforts to save environment
After working in Singapore for a good 5+ years when I returned to my native village, there was drought. Formed 'Harit Kranti Jaygaon' which translates to green revolution to work to capture rainwater to increase groundwater level.
Lead the plantation of trees and got families to sponsor and adopt these trees in name of deceased family members. This has ensured care for these trees with a survival rate of 90%.
Participated in The water cup competition organized by Paani foundation social venture of famous actor Amir Khan. Worked with villagers on deep trenches, and small dams. Work resulted in an increase in groundwater availability by two months in the following year.
Student association for computer students in college
Founding member of the association of computer science engineering students at KBP College of Engineering, Satara in 2004 and worked as its first Vice president.
Organized events like hackathons, cultural activities, and quiz competitions. Raised funds through sponsorship for events and encouraged group studies. Enabled weekend access to computer labs for students as many did not have own computers.
Activity group in schools days
Founded with friends a social group of schoolboys organising sports and cultural events. Group survives to date in new shape and form.
Ganesh festival celebrations with plays with social messages, entertainment, and sports games, fort miniature building - a group activity popular in Maharashtra over Diwali and organized Cricket and traditional game Atya-Patya, Viti-Dandu tournaments.
