Undergraduates: I am always looking for motivated undergraduate students with interests in remote sensing, GIS, water resources, and agricultural sustainability. Paid summer research opportunities ($12 per hour, 30 hours per week for 12 weeks) are available for current DGES undergraduate students coming summer (2024). Please email me at nishanATou.edu if you are interested and would like to discuss more about the summer research project. These projects involve use of big data (remote sensing, field, climate data) in real-world applications. Also check Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program at OU and email me at nishanATou.edu if you are interested in developing a research project during other semesters. I have collaborated with several undergraduate researchers in the past and some of them have co-authored papers in leading journals like the Remote Sensing of Environment, Journal of Hydrology, and Environmental Research Letters.

Ph.D./MS Student : If you are interested in MS/Ph.D. in Geography and Environmental Sustainability at the University of Oklahoma (OU) and have a background or interests in hydrological remote sensing, agricultural water sustainability, and care about global food and water security issues, please email me at nishanATou.edu with your CV, transcript, brief research interest, and writing sample (if you have any).

The Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability is a highly dynamic interdisciplinary department at OU with plenty of opportunities for collaboration across disciplines and units across campus. Please check out more about the graduate program in Geography and Environmental Sustainability at DGES OU
