Presenters

Let me begin by thanking you for serving as a presenter at eNgagement Academy 2024!  We are thrilled with the diverse sessions our teachers will have to choose from!  This email will be important as you prepare for your session, so please save it for handy access.  We have lots of information to share, so let's get started!

Locations & Schedules

As a reminder, we will be at two different sites this year:  Brennan and Stevens.  The Stevens site coordinator is Melanie Strawbridge and the Brennan site coordinator is Isabel Olmeda, and tech coordinator Matt Frymire.  Please check the schedule on the front page to find the date, time, location, and room number of your session.  Please contact your site coordinator with any additional needs for your session.

Professional Learning Expectations

If this is your first time presenting at eNgagement Academy, welcome!  Our district prides itself in upholding very high expectations for our professional learning sessions.  Please take a moment and review our expectations for presenters, and feel free to reach out to Natalie Gray if you have any questions.

Virtual Sessions & Zoom Links

If you are hosting a virtual session, you must present from an NISD campus.  We have set aside rooms at Brennan for your use. You will need to bring your own device with a webcam, headphones, mic, or any other needed equipment.  You are also welcome to present from your NISD office or classroom.

Please contact Isabel Olmeda if you will not present from Brennan.  You will be responsible for creating your own Zoom link for your session.  Please complete the Zoom link form no later than July 19th.

Session Set-Up Times

If you are presenting a Tuesday, July 30th session you may begin setting up on Monday, July 29th.  Stevens and Brennan will be open and the site coordinators will be available from 8 am to 4 pm on July 29th.  If you are presenting a session on Wednesday, the buildings will be open from 7 am until 5 pm each day.  You are welcome to drop off your session materials in the designated presenter's room at each location on July 29th or during the day on July 30th or 31st.

Attendance

All presenters must submit their attendance via Unified Talent.  If you have never been trained in Unified Talent, please complete this course.  The course consists of an 8 minute video and a 5 question assessment.  After completing the course, you will be provided with a click sheet to submit your attendance.  You may also sit down with the Unified Talent team on-site and submit your attendance together.  For any Unified Talent questions, please email teachandlearn@nisd.net.

Technology Considerations

Prior to the day of your session, please ensure any applications, extensions, addons or other programs necessary for your session are accessible on teacher devices.  Presenters should email those registered to attend their session with any reminders to download apps BEFORE the session begins.

Resources

A Session Resource Folder in Google Drive has been created for each of your sessions.  Please be sure to upload your session presentation and any resources to the folder. There will be a poster in your session room with a QR Code and a link to the folder so your participants will have easy access to all materials.  You can access the resources folder and other important information by using the eNA Important Links page.  We are currently building all of the folders, and they will be available for you to add your resources by June 21st.  You will receive a Google notification from Joseph.Frymire@nisd.net once the folders are created and ready to go.

Breaks

Half-day sessions should provide one 15 minute break while full-day sessions should include a morning and afternoon break.  90 minutes sessions should provide a short 5-minute break as well.

Presentation Remotes

Please plan to bring your own presentation remote.  The campus will not provide them.

Supplies

Presenters are responsible for bringing all of the supplies needed for their session including copies, markers, chart paper, etc.  We have asked all participants to bring their Chromebook to sessions with them.

Session Evaluations

Please ensure you leave the last five minutes of your session for attendees to complete a session evaluation.  A QR Code for session evaluations will be posted in your session room.  I've included the code if you'd like to add it as the last slide in your presentation.

The session evaluation and resources folder are all located on the eNA Important Links page.

Lunch

Lunch will be from 11:15-12:45 each day.  There will be no lunch sales or concession stands at either location.  You're welcome to bring your lunch or pick up your lunch to enjoy in the Presenter's Lounge.

Presenter's Lounge

As a small token of our thanks, we will provide a Presenter's Lounge at both locations stocked with water and light snacks.

Parking Pass

We have a designated space for presenter parking.  Parking passes will be emailed to presenters during the summer months.

Presenter Feedback

We love your feedback!  You will be sent a Google form the week following eNA to provide your feedback.

Advertise Your Session

Help us get the word out!  We still have many sessions with open seats.  Please let others know about the wonderful learning opportunities you have created.

CHECK YOUR EMAIL!

Please be prepared to check your email the rest of the summer.  That will be our only form of communication to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about eNA and your session.
