Nine Men's Morris — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Developer: Sparkle Infotech Apps
Overview
Nine Men's Morris ("the App") is a strategy board game, also known as Navakankari, played against a computer opponent or by two people sharing one device. The App is free and is supported by ads. This policy explains what information is involved when you use the App and how it's handled.
The short version: we, the developer, do not collect any personal information, and the game itself sends nothing about you anywhere. To show ads, the App uses Google AdMob, which collects some device information as described below. Your games, statistics and settings stay on your device.
Information We Collect
We collect nothing ourselves. The App has no account creation, no sign-in and no password, and we never receive your name, email address, phone number, contacts or photos.
The App uses no analytics or crash-reporting service of our own.
Information Collected for Ads
The App shows ads using Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the App automatically collects:
IP address — which may be used to estimate the general location of your device.
App interactions — such as app launches, taps and ad views.
Diagnostic information — such as app launch time, hang rate and energy use, related to the performance of the App and the ads.
Device identifiers — your device's Android Advertising ID and app set ID.
This information is sent to Google, encrypted in transit, and used for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Google's use of it is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and its description of how Google uses information from apps that use its services (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the App asks for your consent before ads can be personalised to you, and you can change your choice at any time under Settings → Privacy choices. Ads in the App are limited to content suitable for general audiences.
Information Stored On Your Device
The App saves a small amount of information locally so it can remember it between sessions. It never leaves your device and we have no access to it:
Game in progress — the position of an unfinished game, so you can resume it later.
Statistics — games played, wins and losses against the computer at each difficulty, draws, your current and best winning streaks, and the number of mills formed and pieces captured.
Settings — sound and volume, light or dark appearance, board finish, default computer difficulty, coordinate labels, animation speed, and whether play reminders are switched on.
Internal flags — small housekeeping values, such as whether the intro has been shown, when the App last checked for an update, and how many games you have finished (used to time the review prompt described below).
Hints are counted only while a game is open and are not stored.
How We Use This Information
We don't, because we never receive it. The information stored on your device is read and written by the App, purely to run the game — to resume your game, show your record, and remember your preferences. The information collected for ads is handled by Google as described above; we do not receive, sell or share any information about you.
Where This Information Is Stored
Your games, statistics and settings are kept in the App's private storage area on your phone, which other apps cannot read. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no server-side copy. If you install the App on a different device, it starts fresh.
Notifications
If you switch on play reminders in Settings, the App schedules them on your device, by your device. Nothing about them is sent to us or to anyone else — we do not know whether a reminder was delivered, seen, or opened.
Reminders are only sent after you have not opened the App for a while, never while you are playing, and there are at most three before they stop on their own. Opening the App resets them. You can switch them off at any time in the App's Settings or in your device's notification settings, and the App works exactly the same with them off.
Permissions
The App never asks for a permission when you first open it.
Notifications — asked for only if you switch on play reminders in Settings. Declining it does not affect anything else.
The Android package also declares these permissions, which do not show a prompt:
Internet and network state — used to load ads and for the update check described below.
Advertising ID — included by Google's ads SDK so that ads can be measured and, where you have consented, personalised.
Run at startup and keep awake — let reminders you have switched on still arrive after your phone restarts. They do nothing if reminders are off.
Modify audio settings — used to play the game's sound effects.
App badge permissions for some phone launchers are included by the notification library the App uses; the App does not set app badges.
The App does not access your camera, microphone, location services, contacts, files, or photos.
Network Access
The game itself makes no network requests about you: the computer opponent runs entirely on your phone, and the game is fully playable offline. Network traffic comes from the ads SDK loading ads and reporting on them, and from the update check: about once a day, and when you tap "Check for updates" in Settings, the App fetches a small file from our server to see whether a newer version is available. That request sends no information about you — no identifiers, no game data, and no device details beyond what any web request necessarily includes, such as your IP address. We do not store that address or use it to identify you. If you play offline, no ads are shown.
Third-Party Services
Google AdMob, as described under "Information Collected for Ads".
After you have finished several games, the App may ask Google Play's built-in review prompt to appear. That dialog is shown and handled entirely by Google Play; we receive nothing from it, including whether you left a review or what rating you gave. The "Rate on Google Play" and "Share this app" options in Settings open Google Play or your phone's share sheet, and only when you tap them.
Purchases
There are none. The whole game is free to play and the App asks for no payment information. Extra hints can be earned by choosing to watch a video ad; this is always optional.
Children's Privacy
The App is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we collect no personal information from anyone ourselves.
Your Choices
You can clear your statistics with Settings → Reset statistics, erase everything the App stores with Settings → Reset all data, or uninstall the App, which permanently removes its local storage.
Where the consent message applies, you can change your ad consent at any time under Settings → Privacy choices.
You can reset or delete your Android Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device settings (usually Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
Because we hold no data about you, there is no account to close and no data request for us to fulfil. For data collected by Google, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
