Nimrod Marom

archaeozoologist

I study animal bone remains to understand how animals and animal communities have changed through time under both human and environmental pressures. The Laboratory of Archaeozoology, which I co-direct with Guy Bar-Oz, is a hub to diverse bioarchaeological research activities. These include work on ancient agropastoralism, trade in animals and plants, paleoecology, and "X(tinction...) files": analyses of regional extinction dynamics for charismatic taxa (water voles, leopards, hartebeests, ostriches).

Outside of academia, I live in Jerusalem with my partner, our two boys, and Tobi, our feisty terrier.
