Kia ora! I’m Nimalka Rathnayaka, an aspiring Health and Safety professional with a strong background in aged care and workplace wellbeing.
I’m passionate about protecting people through proactive safety practices and continuous improvement. My goal is to help create safer, healthier, and more positive work environments across Aotearoa New Zealand.
I am currently completing the New Zealand Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety (Level 6) and am deeply passionate about creating safer, more supportive, and compliant workplaces.
My career background in aged care and support work has given me a strong understanding of practical safety, especially in manual handling, infection control, and risk awareness.
Through my studies and hands-on experience, I have developed a strong foundation in hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of safety procedures aligned with WorkSafe New Zealand standards.
