If you want a heavy-duty, weather-resistant cargo carrier designed to mount directly behind your RV for camping gear and bulk luggage, choose Nilight 32"×26"×4"; if you need a vehicle-specific aluminum roof rack system that distributes weight evenly on a raised rail sedan or SUV while driving, choose acpar Compatible. These two products solve fundamentally different problems, and confusing them would be a costly mistake. One is a standalone basket for the rear of a motorhome, while the other is a structural addition to a car's roof rails. The choice isn't about which one is "better" in a vacuum; it is entirely about whether your primary use case involves hauling items from the back of an RV or securing loads on top of a passenger vehicle. I have analyzed the specifications, construction materials, and design intent of both units to help you make this decision with clarity.
• Nilight 32"×26"×4": Built from heavy-duty square tube steel with a 350-pound capacity and electro-galvanized finish; however, it requires a compatible bumper and adds significant drag to the rear of your vehicle.
• acpar Compatible: Designed specifically for Chevrolet Traverse models with raised rails using lightweight aluminum bars for stability; however, it is strictly incompatible with sunroofs and requires precise vehicle matching.
• Who it's for: The Nilight is for the serious RVer who needs a rugged, dedicated platform for bulky items behind the vehicle.
• Who it's for: The acpar is for the Traverse owner needing a secure, low-profile solution for roof-top storage without modifying the vehicle structure.
The Nilight 32"×26"×4" is engineered for one specific scenario: maximizing the utility of an RV's rear bumper. Its core strength lies in its construction. Unlike many lighter carriers that rely on thin metal sheets, this unit utilizes heavy-duty square tube steel. That is a substantial amount of weight, capable of holding large coolers, spare tires, ladders, or multiple suitcases that simply won't fit inside the living space. If you are packing for a long road trip where every cubic inch of interior space is reserved for people, this rack becomes an essential extension of your home on wheels.
The dimensions of 32 inches by 26 inches provide a generous footprint, creating what can only be described as a true basket rather than a shallow tray. The height of 4 inches offers enough vertical clearance to stack items securely, provided they are strapped down. The inclusion of a cargo net is a critical detail often overlooked in generic comparisons. This net allows you to customize the enclosure based on what you are carrying, preventing loose items from shifting during travel. The hardware included in the package ensures that mounting is straightforward, assuming your RV has a bumper that fits the 4-inch or 4-1/2-inch specification mentioned in the product details.

Durability is another pillar of this design. The steel is finished with an electro-galvanized coating and a black powder coat. This dual-layer protection is not just cosmetic; it is a functional necessity for outdoor equipment exposed to rain, road salt, and UV radiation. The inclusion of four different sizes of reflective stickers addresses safety concerns, ensuring that the cargo carrier remains visible to drivers behind you, even in poor lighting conditions. You should buy this if you own an RV with a suitable bumper and need to move a lot of gear without sacrificing cabin comfort. You should skip it if you are looking for a roof-mounted solution or if your vehicle lacks the specific bumper width required for installation.
The acpar Compatible roof rack system operates on a completely different philosophy: precision engineering for specific vehicle platforms. This is not a universal bolt-on part; it is manufactured to match the custom dimensions of the Chevrolet Traverse for the 2025 and 2026 model years. The design focuses on the gap between the roof rails and the roof itself, utilizing a close-to-vehicle positioning strategy. By sitting flush against the raised rails, the aluminum bars minimize wind resistance and reduce the vibration caused by road-induced movement. This approach prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency and driving stability over raw brute strength.
The material choice here is aluminum, which contrasts sharply with the steel of the Nilight. Aluminum is lighter, which helps preserve fuel economy and reduces the strain on the vehicle's suspension when driving. Despite being lighter, the bars offer impressive load-bearing capabilities. This makes it highly versatile for weekend warriors who need to transport recreational gear without permanently altering their vehicle's appearance.
However, the specificity of this product creates a major constraint. The design explicitly states incompatibility with vehicles equipped with a sunroof or sliding glass roof. This is a hard limitation rooted in the mounting structure's interaction with the roof panel. If your Traverse has a sunroof, this rack will not work, regardless of how well it fits the rails otherwise. The installation process is designed for the DIYer, claiming completion within 15 to 25 minutes without professional assistance. You should choose this if you drive a non-sunroof Traverse and need a sleek, stable platform for roof cargo. You must avoid it if your vehicle has a sunroof or if you are trying to adapt it to a different make or model.
• Best for driving dynamics and wind resistance → acpar Compatible (Aluminum bars reduce drag and vibration on highways).
• Best for vehicle integration → acpar Compatible (Custom-fit for specific GM models ensures a seamless look).
• Best for modular flexibility → Nilight 32"×26"×4" (Includes a cargo net to adapt to various shapes and sizes of luggage).
• Best for easy installation → acpar Compatible (Designed for tool-free or simple assembly in under 30 minutes).
• Best for weather durability → Nilight 32"×26"×4" (Heavy-duty steel with galvanized and powder-coated finish resists rust).
• Best for active outdoor sports → acpar Compatible (High dynamic load rating supports bikes and kayaks safely while moving).
• Best for RV owners → Nilight 32"×26"×4" (Specifically sized and mounted for the rear bumper of recreational vehicles).
After weighing the specifications and intended applications, my recommendation depends entirely on the vehicle you are operating. If you are driving an RV and need to carry heavy, bulky items behind the vehicle, the Nilight 32"×26"×4" is the superior choice because its steel construction and 350-pound capacity are unmatched for that specific purpose. However, if you drive a Chevrolet Traverse and need to utilize the roof for gear while maintaining stability and style, the acpar Compatible system is the clear winner due to its custom fit and aerodynamic aluminum design. For those specifically looking for a solution for back seat passengers, neither product is the primary answer, but if forced to choose which keeps the cabin clear for people, the Nilight is the better option because it moves all the clutter off the roof and into a dedicated rear basket, leaving the passenger area completely unobstructed. In my opinion, the Nilight offers more versatility for general travelers who need to maximize space, whereas the acpar is a niche solution for a very specific vehicle type.
