PhD vacancies

Above is the list of research areas (not exhaustive) in the department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kharagpur

(1) To apply for an institute regular PhD in the area of FRP Composites under the ME1 section, the candidates have to apply online https://www.iitkgp.ac.in/phd-admission 

(2) If shortlisted in (1), they have to appear for a written test exam at IIT Kharagpur in physical mode. The syllabus of which is GATE exam for Manufacturing or Production Engineering.

(3) If shortlisted in (2), they have to appear for an oral interview at IIT Kharagpur in physical mode.

It is expected, that the candidates interested to pursue PhD in the area of composites manufacturing and process modelling will have 

(a) Masters coursework in Polymer Composites or Composites Materials; Finite element method

(b) Masters dissertation topic in polymer composites and/finite element method.

(c) A paper published in SCI or SCI-E journal as first or joint author (optional).
