CORPORATE PRAYER

Our journey of faith began in 2000 with the theme "Be Still," echoing the psalmist's plea, "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10). We recognized our need for quiet contemplation and surrender to the Lord. 

In 2001, we affirmed our identity in Christ with the theme "I am who I am," drawing from Exodus 3:14, where God reveals Himself as "I AM." We learnt that our true worth and purpose are found in our relationship with Him. 

The theme "Saved to Serve" in 2002 challenged us to live lives of selfless service, inspired by Christ's example of laying down His life for others (John 15:13). We were reminded that our faith is not just a personal belief but a call to action.

In 2003, we were reminded of the imminence of Christ's return with the theme of the 2nd Coming of Christ. This theme stirred our hearts with anticipation and encouraged us to live lives worthy of the gospel.  "Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming." (Matthew 25:13)

The 2004 theme, "A Life of Sacrifice," called us to follow Christ's example of self-denial and sacrificial love. We learnt that true discipleship involves laying down our desires and following His lead. "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45)

In 2005, we were challenged to walk in the footsteps of Jesus with the theme "In His Step." We were encouraged to imitate His character, His compassion, and His obedience to the Father. "Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (Matthew 11:29)

The 2006 theme, "God Chosen People," reminded us of our unique identity as God's beloved children. We were encouraged to live out our calling as ambassadors of Christ, sharing His love and grace with the world. "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." (1 Peter 2:9)

In 2007, we were reminded of the importance of guarding our hearts and minds with the theme "Treasure Principal." We learnt to prioritise spiritual truths above worldly desires and to cultivate a love for God's Word. "Set your minds on things above, not on things on the earth." (Colossians 3:2)

The year 2008 saw us delving deeper into God's presence, with the theme focused on seeking Him. In 2009, "Ask, Seek, and Knock" (ASK) reminded us of the importance of persistent prayer. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." (Matthew 7:7-8)

In 2010, we were challenged to participate in God's work with the theme "My Father's Business." We were reminded that we are co-labourers with God, called to share the gospel and make disciples. "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)

In 2011, we were guided to walk in God's ways with the theme "God's Way." We learnt to seek His will and direction in all areas of our lives, trusting that His plans are always good and perfect. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

The 2012 theme, "More Than Conqueror," empowered us to face life's challenges with courage and confidence, knowing that through Christ, we are more than conquerors. "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)

In 2013, we were challenged to cultivate a deeper love for God with the theme "Zealous for God." This theme inspired us to pursue holiness, to grow in our knowledge of God, and to serve Him with passion and dedication. "But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all Your works." (Psalm 73:28)

In 2014, we were reminded of the authority and truth of God's Word with the theme "Thy Word is Truth." We were encouraged to immerse ourselves in Scripture, allowing it to transform our minds and guide our lives. *"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Psalm 119:105). 

In 2015, we were challenged to surrender our will to God's with the theme "Thy Will Be Done." We learnt to trust in His sovereignty and to find peace and contentment in His plans, even when we don't fully understand them. "Not my will, but Yours, be done." (Luke 22:42)

The years 2020-2022 saw a pause due to the global pandemic, but our faith remained steadfast. In 2023, we returned with the powerful proclamation, "Jesus Christ is Lord" (Philippians 2:11). We celebrated the Lordship of Christ over all areas of our lives and renewed our commitment to follow Him.

Building upon this foundation, the 2024 theme, "Jesus Christ, Chief Cornerstone" (Ephesians 2:20), emphasised the centrality of Christ in our lives. Just as a cornerstone is the foundation upon which a building is constructed, Christ is the cornerstone of our faith, providing stability and strength.

And now, in 2025, we stand on the theme "Rooted in Christ, Building Together." This theme invites us to deepen our roots in Christ, drawing nourishment from His Word and allowing His love to transform us from within (Colossians 2:6-7). Rooted in Him, we are called to build together, forming a community of faith where we support and encourage one another on our journey of discipleship. 

As we reflect on these past themes, we see a clear progression—from stillness and self-discovery to selfless service and unwavering faith in Christ. We are reminded of our identity in Him, our purpose to serve, and the importance of building a strong foundation upon which we can grow together as a community of believers.
