Student Evaluation Comments:
"Nikolay is an amazing professor that does his best to ensure that students learn and understand the information that he teaches in his class. He is always willing to help you, all you have to do is ask. I can't praise him enough for the effort that he puts into teaching the class, going as far as writing his own tests, something that I haven't seen from very many other professors of mine."
"I enjoyed R studio and think everyone should learn how to code at least once in their education."
"Professor was extremely accommodating for students, having asynchronous lectures with students in the classroom as well didn't seem to be a problem like it was with a lot of my other professors. Everything always ran smoothly, and kids had the choice to come into class by signing up, or to attend via zoom which I found to be very cool. Always extremely prepared for class, and answers everyone's questions. Taught all the objectives he said he was going to, in a timely manner. And gave homework that adequately reflected what we learned in class for the week/day. One of the best instructors I have had, in the sense that he was fair, taught extremely well, and gave every student plenty of time to complete every assignment. Would recommend anyone that has to take this course to take it with Professor Ushakov. I have taken it 2 times now and I never grasped the concepts till he taught them, and I will be leaving it with one of the best grades I've gotten at BSU. Which wouldn't have been possible without a professor like him."
"Professor Ushakov is very clear during lectures and assignments. He makes sure all the students are on the same page and understand what is being discussed. I love using the class Excel sheet because it allows all of us to check in on what the work we are doing should look like and Mr. Ushakov can easily point out any mistake we make."
Intermediate Macroeconomics (online) [Teaching Evaluations of Summer 2017]
Student Evaluation Comments:
• Despite this being a summer course, the instructor always made himself available to help, even adding additional office hours, which I appreciate. He really wanted us to do well.
• Good teacher
• Our TA, Nikolay, has been extremely helpful and has provided extensive help with office hours as well as being quick and responsive and helpful in all emails. He has taken a lot of his own personal time towards helping me understand the material to the best of my ability. He has also reached out when I have been struggling and has provided additional help/office hours to personally help me understand this course much better. I cannot thank him enough for his help. Excellent TA, best I have ever had by far.
