Arinobu Niijima has been a distinguished researcher at NTT, Inc. He joined NTT Corporation in 2012. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 2017. His research interests include Human-Computer Interaction, Haptics, Wearable Computing, and Cybernetics. His work focuses on developing and evaluating Human-Computer Integration systems with innovative sensing technologies and haptic feedback. He is particularly interested in utilizing electrical muscle stimulation for motor skill learning. In addition to these areas, he also explores a wider range of topics within HCI, such as haptic displays designed to replicate the texture of virtual food and e-textiles that measure electromyography.
He was the World Champion in Sports Chanbara in 2009.
