After the successful tour with my Korean friends in July 2023, I received another exciting offer to guide a new team from South Korea on an adventure to Mt. Fuji. The tour was scheduled for October 21-23, 2023, and this time I had the pleasure of hosting Abdul Kadir, Johir Raihan, SA Akash, and Pabel Khan.
Day 1: October 21, 2023
As usual, I picked them up from Narita Airport. Our first stop was the Makki Masjid, a renowned mosque in Tokyo known for its Saturday night gatherings and Shabguzari. During the daytime, we visited the Umi Hotaru on the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line. Umi Hotaru is a unique floating rest area on the highway, offering stunning views of Tokyo Bay and various entertainment options, including shops, restaurants, and observation decks.
In the evening, we visited the iconic Tokyo Tower. Standing at 333 meters, Tokyo Tower is a symbol of Japan’s post-war rebirth and offers panoramic views of the city. The illuminated tower was a breathtaking sight, and the observation deck provided a stunning view of Tokyo's skyline.
That night, we stayed at the Makki Masjid, participating in the Islamic lecture and performing Salat. It was a peaceful and spiritually enriching experience.
Day 2: October 22, 2023
The next morning, two more friends, Maruf and Tarikul, joined us from Tokyo. Together, we visited Ueno Park, one of Tokyo's most popular public parks. Ueno Park is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms, spacious grounds, and cultural attractions, including museums and a zoo. We spent a lovely morning exploring the park's scenic beauty and historical landmarks.
In the evening, we embarked on our journey to Mt. Fuji, reaching T&T Hotel in Fujikawaguchiko. The hotel is run by a Japanese Muslim and his Indonesian wife, who provide halal meals. Upon arrival, we ordered dinner and enjoyed a delicious halal meal. While the others rested, Abdul Kadir and I helped the hotel owner set up his WiFi and provided some technical support. Grateful for our help, they offered us breakfast for free the next morning.
Day 3: October 23, 2023
On the crisp winter morning, we woke up around 10 AM and were greeted by a stunning view of Mt. Fuji from our hotel window. Mt. Fuji, Japan's highest peak at 3,776 meters, is an iconic symbol of Japan, renowned for its perfect cone shape and spiritual significance. We then ventured outside to Yamanaka Lake, one of the Fuji Five Lakes, known for its clear waters and picturesque views of Mt. Fuji. We took some of our best photos here, capturing the majestic mountain and serene lake.
After lunch at the hotel, we began our journey back to Tokyo in the afternoon. We performed our prayers at a roadside stop on the way to Narita. By 5 PM, we reached Narita Airport, ready to bid farewell to my new friends as they prepared to fly back to South Korea.
This tour was yet another testament to the enriching and unforgettable experiences we strive to provide at Nihon Expat Connect (NEC). Whether it's the serene beauty of Mt.
