Week 1
This week our team focused on designing the outline for our web application and setting up the back end of the application using react. To do this we deployed Firebase as a cloud-based architecture to fulfill our cloud computing needs. Some of these needs include server-side authentication for login credentials, hosting our web application, and researching nutrition and workout API's.
Week 2
As we get started building our web app, we are collecting and learning new things such as cloud computing. We started with our homepage which is designed but still needs editing to make it pleasing to the user. Not only that but we have also begun our dashboard but as it's a start, we will be working on more basic features. We have successfully completed the login page but we will be doing more to surprise you and probably ourselves.
Week 3
This week we started focusing on the design and collecting data from the user to complete some of the tasks such as getting and storing the height, weight, age, and other information that will be stored in the specific user data. We are also implementing the design of the dashboard to make it appealing to look at and won't drive away users at a first glance. Our goal for the first sprint is to have a login page working and have a few features such as the workout feature to generate specific workouts for different muscle groups with different intensities. We fixed some major bugs such as nested routing and not rendering the navbar. Figuring out all of this new technology is difficult but its a blast!
Week 4
We have our first demo coming up this week and we’re getting ready everything ready to show what we’ve got so far. We’ve made significant progress but we still got our challenges ahead of us for our web app to be complete. As our goal for our first sprint was to have our home page complete, get a working login/signup page, our login page linked with our database, and get a general layout for our dashboard, we have completed those and more. In addition to all those, we have got a layout of our contact us, about us page, and profile page including a survey for new users and more nifty features that will be revealed in due time.

Week 5
This week was a bit slow for us. We had our spring break, and a little time to ourselves but the work never stops. As we were getting things for next spring, we decided to have a sit down to get our GitHub issues straightened up and what we have to prioritize next. The next few steps we had to get together were to get the workout done. As we're getting started, we're taking time to make it as fluent as possible for the user. This includes fixing one of the bugs we had which was when hovering over the ‘Log Plan’ in light mode. We also figured out one of the bugs which ended up not being a bug, just something we have to change.
Week 6
As sprint 2 approaches, we start picking up the little bits and getting things together. As our old calendar was just a design, we vamped it up and make it better than ever. Even better than that, we started getting our own workout plan just incase the user doesn’t want to create their own. We are starting off with the beginner side as our main target is for beginners, we will slowly move to the intermediate and professional workout in no time. While we also include our new graph that tracks your weight loss or gain.
Week 7
One more week to our second demo and we are making changes like never before, we are now working on synchronizing our workout log to our calendar to make it more accessible and simpler for users to know what workouts they have to do on what day. As there are lots and lots of workouts out there, we are deciding on what workout is the best for beginners and intermediate gymbros and gymgals, would be the best to reach their goal in the most efficient ways.
P.S. We redesigned our dashboard page and it looks super clean and cool.
Week 8
Sprint 2 was a success, we got feedback from Professor Stonedahl regarding a couple of bugs and features we have to fix or add. We also received a couple of feedback from other groups as well. Our last demo (sprint 3) is in a couple of weeks, we’re finalizing our features and bugs that might occur when using. Some of the features we’re planning to fix/add are (1) connecting the workout plan to the calendar; (2) adding tooltips for some workout terminology; (3) reduce the wait time for the view plan; (4) putting a dropdown for the view plan. As there is other work to do, we are currently prioritizing these.
Week 9
As sprint 3 approaches, we got a couple of difficult things completed this week. From our second sprint (demo) feedback, we got the calendar connected to the workout plan. As this was a bit difficult, we got a few bugs to fix but we are working on getting it fixed and ready for use. Next, we reduced the wait time as that was one thing that we wanted to do so the user won’t be anxious waiting for it to load. Lastly, we got the drop-down for the workouts to show that there is content in the workout headers.
Week 10
Our next goals have been set during our meetings. As our project is coming to an end, we have finalized our log workout where the user is able to log the workouts they have completed with the number of sets and reps they did. We have also added a goals section in the profile tab where the user is able to refer back to see what their set goal is and there’s a little motivational quote to get them through the workout in there too. We also edited our dashboard to make it agile and changed our graph to show the weight and their BMI as their weight changes.
Week 11
Our final project presentation approaches and now it’s time to stop making new features and make it bug free and presentable. As we finish up, we got our advanced workout plan complete and ready for our advanced users (our web app is for any gym bro or gym gal). We also included a last feature where users are able to see their previous nutrition history. We also made added a part where a user will be congratulated when they completed their workout.
Week 12
Presentation week is here! We are now getting ready for presentation day. We’re getting our presentation slides complete and relative to our project. We are also rehearsing and making sure we are ready for our presentation. Including how we’ll be presenting to show all our features in the correct and relevant order.
