This policy explains what NightBeam ("the app") does with information. NightBeam is a UV light and gemstone exploration app. It includes a flashlight, a gemstone guide, guided experiments, a personal observation journal, and optional photo capture.

1. Information that stays on your device

NightBeam stores the following on your device only. We do not receive it and we have no server that holds it.

• Observation journal. The entries you create, such as notes, selected specimens, and observation results.

• Photos. Pictures you take inside the app for observations. Photos and their thumbnails are stored in the app's private storage.

• App settings and preferences, including whether you have completed onboarding.

• Pro status. A cached record of whether your subscription is active.

We cannot see this information. If you delete the app or clear its data from Android settings, it is permanently removed from your device.

2. Camera permission

NightBeam asks for camera access so you can take photos for observations and use the Vision feature. Photos you take are saved only on your device and are not uploaded by us.

The flashlight (torch) feature does not need camera permission and works without it.

3. Exports you create

You can export your journal entries as JSON, CSV, or PDF. Exports are created on your device. They leave the device only if you choose to share them, for example by email or a messaging app. Once you share a file, the receiving app's own privacy policy applies.

4. Advertising

The free version of NightBeam shows ads. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, part of Google's advertising services. To show ads, Google's advertising software may collect and use:

• your Advertising ID,

• device and app information (such as device model, operating system version, and app version),

• your approximate location, derived from your IP address,

• information about how ads are displayed and interacted with.

We do not control what Google collects for advertising. Its handling of this data is described in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Consent. Where required by law, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app shows a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform before ads are requested. You can change your consent choice later where the app provides that option. You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your Android device's Google settings (Settings → Google → Ads).

NightBeam Pro subscribers do not see ads.

5. Subscriptions and payments

NightBeam Pro is an optional subscription sold through Google Play. Payments are handled entirely by Google Play. We never receive or store your card or payment details. The app receives purchase information from Google Play, such as a purchase token and your subscription status, to confirm whether Pro is active. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

6. Backup

Android's Auto Backup may back up the app's journal data to your Google account, if you have device backup turned on. Photos and your Pro status are excluded from backup. Backups are handled by Google under your Google account settings, not by us.

7. Information we do not collect

• We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number inside the app.

• We do not sell your personal information.

• We do not use your journal entries or photos for advertising, analytics, or training any model.

8. Third-party services

The app uses these third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

• Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform: advertising and consent. https://policies.google.com/privacy

• Google Play Billing and Google Play services: subscriptions and app delivery. https://policies.google.com/privacy

9. Your choices and deleting your data

• Delete your journal and photos: delete entries inside the app, or clear the app's storage or uninstall it from Android settings.

• Camera access: you can revoke it at any time in Android Settings → Apps → NightBeam → Permissions.

• Ads: change your consent choice or ad personalization settings as described in section 4.

• Subscription: cancel in Google Play as described in section 5.

Because we do not hold your journal or photos on any server, we cannot retrieve or delete them for you. They are under your control on your device.

10. Children

NightBeam is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through advertising or any other route, contact us and we will help.

11. Security

Your data is kept in the app's private storage on your device, which other apps cannot normally access. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Before you publish it, check three points:

• Children (section 10): I assumed NightBeam is a general-audience app. If you set a different target audience in Play Console, change this section so the two match.

• Backup (section 6): this matches the current backup rules, which include the journal and exclude photos and Pro status. Update it if those rules change.

• Contact email: it is the one you gave me. Make sure it's an address you want shown publicly.
