The player takes control of Debra Kopiske, a gas station cashier, taking the night shift. After she is dropped off by her friend Amber and replaces the previous clerk, the game mostly consists her doing menial tasks assigned to her in a note from her manager, Rick, like sweeping the floor, reorganizing the stock, and manning the register. However, a foreboding atmosphere is set when a mysterious white van laps around the gas station and the cashier meets a suspicious customer who appears to spy on her while shopping. After he leaves, Debra hears a door open in the back and investigates where she is attacked and knocked out by the Night Shift Abductor.
