H-o-u-s-e … you have a picture in your mind. It was put there by a word. Three of the letters of that word are only glue, “o,” “u,” and “e,” they contain no data. Simply sound the letters “h” and “s” you get all the data you need to picture a house in your  mind, and probably something much more personal, a home. The sounds letters make form abstract symbols, perhaps the most abstract form we use regularly. Yet, those abstract symbols produce very real images and ideas in our minds.
