# Privacy Policy for Nidra

Nidra ("the app") is developed by Chitkala Labs.
This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
## Summary
Nidra does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal
data, audio, or usage information. The app has no backend server, no
analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no user account or sign-in.
Everything the app records or calculates stays on your device.
## What the app accesses, and why
- **Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO):** used only to detect snoring while you
are recording a night's sleep. Audio is analyzed in real time on your
device. Only short clips identified as snoring are saved to the app's
private storage on your phone -- the rest of the night's audio is
never saved or transmitted.
- **Motion sensor (accelerometer):** used only to estimate your sleep
position (back / side / stomach) during a recording. This data is
stored locally alongside your sleep session.
- **Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS):** used only to show the
ongoing "Recording your sleep" notification required by Android
while the app records in the background, and is not used for
marketing or third-party messaging.
- **Vibration:** used only for the optional in-app "smart alarm" nudge
feature, which you can disable in Settings.
## Data storage
All recordings, snore clips, intensity data, and trigger logs are
stored in a local database and local files on your device only. This
data is excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup. Uninstalling
the app, or using the in-app "Delete All Recordings" option, permanently
deletes this data.
## Data sharing
The app does not send any data anywhere. The only way data leaves your
device is if you explicitly choose to share a night's PDF report using
Android's standard share sheet (e.g. to email it to a doctor) -- that
action is entirely your choice and uses apps already on your phone.
## Children's privacy
The app does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children,
because it does not collect data at all.
## Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same
URL with a new "last updated" date.
