Causes

WHAT IS THE Science behind what cause a hurricane and how do they happen?

A hurricane forms near warm waters. These warm waters evaporate creating moist air that acts as fuel for the Hurricane. Wind causes even more water to evaporate into the air. The air turns into water droplets which then turn into clouds. As the warm air continues rising upward, the wind begins blowing in a circular pattern and the winds gather thunderstorms and clouds. Once the spinning storm reaches 74 miles per hour it is officially a hurricane.

Does weather/temperature affect it?

The water temperature does effect it. Hurricanes only happen where the ocean is at least 80 degrees Fahrenheit so most hurricanes occur near the equator.
