In the summer after my Junior year at UGA, I interned at Porsche's Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta, GA, becoming their first US summer intern, and gaining a spot on the Corporate Strategy team. In this role, I focused on startup development and financial analysis, particularly for Porsche Drive, a new addition to the Porsche portfolio. My responsibilities included crafting a competitive pricing analysis for the product and completing a pricing memorandum for the future of the Drive Program.
In the summer after my sophomore year at UGA, I interned at Frisch Capital Partners, a boutique investment bank in Watkinsville, GA. My responsibilities at the bank included deal due diligence, drafting CIMs, and collaborating on executive summary overviews. As a boutique firm, we primarily focused on assisting independent sponsors through the process of acquiring companies. While working over the summer, we successfully closed 3 deals.
For the past three years, I've been employed at Southern Ox, where I currently hold the position of store manager. In this role, I supervise 6-10 employees, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and maintaining a positive overall customer experience. In addition to providing leadership, I handle responsibilities such as inventory management, purchasing, managing cash and credit card assets, and overseeing the opening and closing of the store on operational days.
I held the role of Treasury Chair for Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, for a total of one year. In this capacity, I managed nearly $50,000 and supervised all financial transactions occurring each semester to maintain a positive financial standing for the chapter. I have been a member of the Kickstart Fund, a student-led venture capital investment fund, for the last year. In my current position as a deal sourcing associate, I am in charge of recruiting and sourcing startup companies within the UGA ecosystem to apply for funding with Kickstart. We offer non-dilutive grants of up to $10,000 towards student-run businesses for the sole benefit of the student. With our investment goal of $100,000 per year, we hope to be a part of many people's startup success stories!
I am one of four beta testers for Phade's ambassador program, which introduces the world's first marine-biodegradable, home, and industrial compostable products. Currently studying at UGA, I am dedicated to steering the greater Athens community and the school toward a more sustainable path. Our innovative straws, crafted from canola oil, decompose within a short span of 6 weeks, thanks to their unique composition. Despite being environmentally friendly, they mimic the feel of traditional plastic straws, boast exceptional durability, and feature an attractive Caribbean blue aesthetic. In the 3 months I have been in this role, I have generated over $6,000 in sales!
