Objective:
This resource center was carefully designed to include evidence-based articles that encourage nurses to recognize the importance of and implement the new safety improvement plan (SIP) for enhancing NICU patient handoff reports and safety.
Patient safety is always a priority; thus, our organization/unit consistently works to enhance quality through various initiatives.
This site is broken down into three sections: Improving Our Unit/Organization, Barriers to Effective Patient Handoffs, and Standardized Tools. Each section features several resources with linked articles for use by nurses and staff in our unit, with one designated as the most valuable in each section.
This safety improvement plan requires no additional resources beyond those linked here to support its implementation. The resources included in this toolkit will foster better patient outcomes and safety, which will, in turn, enhance patient satisfaction and reduce the likelihood of patient readmission.
