The assignment for this piece involved combining a piece of "High" and "Low" art. I chose to combine decorative cookie tins and sublime landscape paintings by painting on a small round canvas.

This piece was meant to address the societal pressures that cause people to ignore their biological needs. It's common in work and school settings to trade food and sleep for work. This exchange that eventually chips away at a person, mentally, physically, and emotionally. The gauntness and slightly inhuman features are meant to invoke both discomfort and sympathy to encourage self reflection in the viewer.
