― William Blake, The Marriage of Heaven and Hell
I am Italian, from Turin, but I am currently based in the United States. I have worked at the University of Virginia for nine years, and I have collaborated with Columbia University and the University of Manchester (UK) as Research Scholar.
I have a doctorate in Latin American Studies from the University of Virginia, I have studies at the University of Turin (Italy) for five years, and I have a Professional Certificate in Afro-Latin American Studies from Harvard University.
At the intersection of Migratory and Diaspora Studies, Visual Arts and Literature, and Urban Studies, my research analyzes the ways in which art engages with the socio-cultural and environmental impact of immigrant communities living in Latin American metropolises.
I am also a visual artist. My paintings and drawings have been exhibited in both Italy and the Unites States. I like to capture the role that humans, animals, and plants play in a reality characterized by global diasporas, climate change, and social and ethical contradictions. Irony, bright colors, and thick lines are my signature. I am an amateur photographer, and I am currently experimenting with acrylic and collage.
