Welcome to my teaching portfolio!
I enjoy the conversation between my work, what I am learning, what I teach and the various gems I encounter on a daily basis related to being an educational technology practitioner, learning designer and researcher in Higher Education. I wear many 'hats' in my work which is labelled in various ways from academic developer, online facilitator, educational technologist, lecturer, etc.
I started co-teaching on the PGDip in Educational Technology at the University of Cape Town in 2013. I really enjoyed teaching on it and engaging with a diverse range of students. I co-designed many interesting, relevant and authentic learning activities and learnt a lot about myself as a teacher along the way.
In 2019 I moved to Rhodes University to take up a permanent position. I continue to co-teach and supervise but most of my time is spent coordinating efforts in CHERTL's Educational Technology Unit.
I have supervised a Masters students whom I have never met face-to-face. I see online supervision as a new area where I am able to contribute novel expertise.
