I'm am part of the Class of 2025 at the New York Urban Assembly Harbor School in the Marine Biology Research Program (MBRP) CTE (Career and Technical Education). The Harbor School focuses on marine stewardship and preparing students for careers in the maritime feild. The Marine Biology Research Program specifically focuses on marine conservation, biodiversity, and understanding how to conduct scientific research, in both lab and field. I am planning on becoming a physician, hoping to specialize in either neurosurgery, anesthesiology, or trauma surgery. In preparation of that, I spent a week shadowing Dr. Maura Sullivan, MD and Dr. Chester Robbins, MD at Hurley Avenue Family Medicine, and have biology lab experience through the MBRP program.
My Myers Briggs personality type is INTP— Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Prospecting, and my Holland Code is AIR— Artistic, Investigative, Realistic. I am more introverted, but I'm working on getting more comfortable in unconventional situations and practicing my public speaking, especially with my role as project manager in senior year. Though, I excel in small groups and work well with my peers. I am also a creative thinker and academically inclined, having had my work presented at the MoMA while maintaing As. I have experience with data management, data acquisition, working in small groups, and project presentations, along with feild work and basic lab procedures. As a project manager, I have a wonderful opportunity to build my leadership, communication, and problem solving skills. And I hope to continue learning new things and bettering myself.
