Question of The Day
What is the solar system and how many planets are in ours?
Answer: Our solar system consists of our star, the Sun, and everything bound to it by gravity – the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune; dwarf planets such as Pluto.
Learning Objectives
Students will know what a solar system is and what ours is called.
Students will also be able to identify and place each planet in order.
They will also understand new concepts that related to space.
Class Project
Students will be asked to create their own replicas of our solar systems.
I will be checking to see if students got the correct order down and color of the planets.

Why is Pluto not a planet?
Back when I was in school they taught me that Pluto was a planet in our solar system... However, it wasn't until recently to kicked it out of our system.
