Question of The Day

  • What is the solar system and how many planets are in ours?

Answer: Our solar system consists of our star, the Sun, and everything bound to it by gravity – the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune; dwarf planets such as Pluto.

Learning Objectives

  • Students will know what a solar system is and what ours is called.

  • Students will also be able to identify and place each planet in order.

  • They will also understand new concepts that related to space.

Class Project

  • Students will be asked to create their own replicas of our solar systems.

  • I will be checking to see if students got the correct order down and color of the planets.
