Earthquakes

• What causes Earthquakes?

Answer: Earthquakes are usually caused when underground rock suddenly breaks and there is rapid motion along a fault. This sudden release of energy causes the seismic waves that make the ground shake.

• Students will learn what causes an Earthquake.

• They will also be able to see the correlation between Plate Tectonics and Earthquakes.

• Students will also learn the term, "Seismic."
