This is the story of a man who had taken on a powerful journey to be reunited with his love in heaven. His name is Nicholas and he will have to travel through many levels of the inferno before he is able to reunite with his wife. My levels will be discussed but time is short, so not all will be discovered in this story. But let's not get ahead of things.
This story start of with the death of Nicholas’s wife, Angelica. Nicholas was devastated by this event. He was a thirty-year-old man living in the year 2018. His wife was his whole world for he had few friends. He was not sure what to do after her death. He decided since he was not happy where he was any more, it was best that he leave his home to roam the world. He thought leaving his home would help him mentally, but sadly this journey just made him lose his way. He became unsure of all faith seeing what went on in the world. Nicholas did not know what to do with himself.
One day Nicholas found himself in a forest that was so thick you could not look up and see the light of the sun. While in this forest, Nicholas had no idea where he was going. He was scared and had a bad feeling in his gut. He was trying to find his way out but unknowingly tracked further into its darkness. When he had reach the middle of the forest, he saw a man standing as a shadow in the darkness. Seeing this man, Nicholas had shivers go down his spine. Though scared Nicholas asked with confidence, “Who goes there?’
The man responded,”It is I, Spencer. I am here to guide a man who has lost his way. I am here to show you through the inferno, so that you may regain your faith and way. Once our journey is done, you shall be reunited with your wife in heaven.”
Hearing this Nicholas immediately replied, ” I shall follow you anywhere as long as you reunite me with my wife.”
After this Spencer gestured for Nicholas to follow him. As Nicholas followed Spencer, he noticed a hole in the ground. Upon arriving at the hole, he discovered that the hole was covered in vines that went down its sides. Nicholas though the hole seemed to have no bottom looking down from the top . Spencer gestured that he and Nicholas would climb down. When they reached the bottom they saw a field full of people's spirits. They were floating around aimlessly through the damp musty air. Spencer explained, “ Nicholas, I have brought you to the first level of the Inferno, Purgatory. This is the place where people who did nothing wrong have gone but did not follow faith properly. These people will roam here eternally for they did not listen to faith properly.”
To this Nicholas responded,” These poor souls suffer eternally even though they did nothing wrong but did not follow faith. I would hate to be among these souls, to roam eternally and be lost. I was on a path leading to this with my own roaming and would hate this. But I have a question for you, Spencer. Why are you my guide and how do you know the inferno?”
Spencer hesitated to respond to this but thought he should respond only to be fair. He said, “ I am a man that was of the Jewish faith. I was alive in the year 900. I never did anything wrong in my life and ended up in Purgatory. The faith to God was right but since we do not believe in the Inferno we end up in it. But my spirit was too strong and I chose not to roam the fields of Purgatory. I chose to explore the whole Inferno. After what seemed like an eternity, I was sent a message from an angel to guide you through the Inferno so you would not be lost to the inferno yourself and would meet with your wife in Heaven. After this journey I will have a chance to go before God and show him my faith and be taken to heaven.”
Nicholas was satisfied with this answer for in the end he still would see his wife. He also loved the idea that a man that never did anything wrong would get a chance to get into heaven.
This is only the beginning of Nicholas and Spencer's journey. Through this story we'll see many of the levels of the Inferno. We will hear of famous people in these levels and the sins they committed to get them there. This journey is vast and will give Nicholas a whole new perspective on life.
