Chautauqua Institution?
What is it exactly? Well, when I tell people I go to southern New York, they think "Oh! New York City?! That's so cool!" but no.
Chautauqua, NY, is a small town located in southwestern New York State, near the shores of Chautauqua Lake. It's best known for the Chautauqua Institution, a cultural and educational center that has been in operation since 1874. Each summer, thousands of visitors come to attend lectures, concerts, theater, interfaith worship, and other enriching programs that promote lifelong learning and civic engagement. Nestled along the shores of Lake Chautauqua, the town offers scenic beauty, a peaceful atmosphere, and a legacy that helped inspire the nationwide Chautauqua Movement, which brought similar cultural programming to rural communities across the U.S.
That's why I made this video. To explain to people where I go and why, to the thousands of people that go every summer, it means so much!

Skip ahead 10 seconds. The first 10 are just black
In this video, I’ll be exploring more than just a music group—I’ll be telling the story of Mind the Gap, a mixed-voice a cappella group from the University of Oregon and how they have grown to feel so much like a family.
Since their founding in 2007, the members of Mind the Gap have come from all kinds of places and backgrounds, but they’ve been able to connect by their love of music and a strong connection with one another.
So really the question Im asking is.. What brings this group so close together?
