Nicholson is a zoned community. All Ordinances are on file at the office and can be viewed during regular business hours (see above). A copy of the Zoning book is $25.00. Copies of individual pages are $.25 each. Nicholson's Zoning Officer is Gary Evans , who can be reached on 570-219-5219.

The borough government structure consists of a mayor whom is elected every four years and a council of seven members whom are elected for overlapping four year terms.
The current council members are: John Kiryluk, President; John Decker, Vice President; Joan Jenkins; John Bower; Albert Olive; Nate Truitt; and Scott Aylesworth.Mayor: Charlie Litwin, Jr.

Borough Council Meetings Information
Council Meetings are held the first Monday's of each month at 6 p.m. at the Borough Building. Meetings in 2026 will be on the following dates: January 5, February 2, March 2, April 6, May 4, June 1, July 6, August 3, September 8 (Tuesday, due to the Monday holiday), Â Â October 5, November 2, and December 7.
