During the Covid-19 Pandemic response by the United States Government, there are those around us that are in need. They feel invisible, but not because they are not seen. They are not viewed as having the disabilities they are constantly reminded of. They look healthy in appearance, yet there are many reasons for them to take more precautions than the average person. Despite them being young, they should not be grouped with the people in their age groups. Unfortunately the Government has taken this view. They have put limits as to who can get a vaccine based solely upon age. Their ableist policies have pushed so many people in need far back behind the line of where they should be. They deserve a quick route to getting a vaccine. Kendall Ciesemier, an opinion writer for Cnn, tackles this subject in her article "The reason I qualify for a Covid-19 vaccine has nothing to do with the fact that I'm immunocompromised. That needs to change". This is personal for Ciesemier, and she wants to set the record straight. In this podcast, I will be discussing the different strategies she uses throughout her article to inform her audience on this subject that is too often overlooked.
