Hello! I am Sanskriti**, a NASA Hubble Fellow at Stanford University. Previously, I was a KIPAC postdoctoral fellow at the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology, Stanford University. I did my Ph.D. from the Department of Astronomy, The Ohio State University.

I work on various observational aspects of the circumgalactic medium (CGM) of spiral galaxies. Using emission imaging spectroscopy and absorption grating spectroscopy in X-ray, I study the phase structure of the >100,000 K CGM of the Milky Way (MW) and external MW-like individual galaxies. I look for diffuse neutral hydrogen in the CGM of local (D < 20 Mpc) galaxies by comparing the 21-cm emission measured by single dishes and interferometers. Also, I stack over a high-sensitivity CMB footprint at a high spatial resolution to constrain the thermal pressure in the CGM of low-redshift (z<1) L* galaxies.ย

In a nutshell, my research profile is 24 peer-reviewed publications (12 first-author), h-index = 13, and 8 press coverages.

I did my B.Sc. in Physics from Presidency University, Kolkata, India. Despite lacking any stellar (no pun intended) component in our curriculum, I had an early exposure to Astronomy & Astrophysics thanks to our wonderful professors. I decided to pursue Astronomy after doing a couple of projects on different topics, e.g., detecting exoplanets using the transit method, performance testing of radio interferometers, simulating HI-H2 transition in the cold interstellar medium, and detecting gamma-ray bursts in GMRT, IUCAA, and TIFR. I did my M.Sc. in Physics from IIT Bombay, India, and did my master's thesis on light curves of Type II-P supernovae from TIFR, Mumbai, India. I got my M.S. in Astronomy from The Ohio State University which was followed by the Ph.D. program.ย

I am quite adaptive when it comes to the research topic and/or methodology. Physics to Astronomy was a journey from theory to observation for me. While I prefer to continue as an observer, I will be welcoming toward any transition if needed. I am enthusiastic about teaching and outreach, and I would like to improve my experience in it in the future.ย

**pronounced as Shawng-owsh-cree-tea (dental 't') in my native language Bangla, and it means culture/reformation. Too difficult? Just call me 'S' (or Ace, according to Starbucks's interpretation)
