Welcome to NiceDriver. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.
NiceDriver collects the following types of information to provide trip tracking and related services:
Precise GPS Coordinates: We collect precise location data (GPS coordinates) to track your trips, record routes, calculate distances, and enable automatic trip detection.
When Collected: Location data is collected when the app is in use and when running in the background for automatic trip detection.
How Used: Location data is used exclusively for app functionality, including:
Trip tracking and route recording
Automatic trip detection (start and end)
Distance and duration calculations
Displaying trip routes on maps
Start and end location identification
Email Address: Collected when you sign in using Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, or Email/Password authentication. Used for account creation, authentication, and account management.
Name: Display name collected from authentication providers (Google, Apple, or manually entered). Used to personalize your app experience.
Optional: You can use the app in Guest Mode without providing email or name.
Trip Information: Start time, end time, duration, distance, route coordinates, trip type, and related trip details.
Vehicle Information: Vehicle names, types, fuel consumption data, and vehicle settings.
Refueling Records: Fuel prices, quantities, dates, and vehicle associations.
Cost Calculations: Trip costs based on fuel prices and vehicle settings.
Settings preferences (auto-detection sensitivity, battery usage level, dark mode, etc.)
Saved locations and favorite places
Subscription status and in-app purchase information
We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:
App Functionality: To provide trip tracking, route recording, automatic trip detection, and related features.
Authentication: To create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and enable sign-in across devices.
Data Synchronization: To sync your data across devices when you sign in with the same account (requires subscription).
Cloud Backup: To securely backup your trips, vehicles, and refueling records to cloud storage (requires subscription).
Personalization: To customize your app experience based on your preferences and usage.
Analytics and Improvement: To understand how the app is used and improve its functionality (data is anonymized).
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing to third parties, or selling your data to data brokers.
By default, all your trip data, vehicle information, and refueling records are stored locally on your device. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted anywhere unless you choose to enable cloud sync.
If you sign in with an account and subscribe to premium features, your data may be synced to cloud storage (Firebase/Firestore) for the following purposes:
Cross-device synchronization
Secure cloud backup
Data recovery
Cloud sync is optional and requires an active subscription. You can disable cloud sync at any time in the app settings.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
Data encryption in transit and at rest
Secure authentication using industry-standard methods (OAuth, Apple Sign-In)
Firebase/Firestore security rules to prevent unauthorized access
Regular security assessments and updates
We use the following third-party services to provide app functionality:
Firebase Authentication: For user authentication and account management
Firebase Firestore: For cloud data storage and synchronization (optional, subscription required)
Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In: For authentication providers
App Store / Google Play: For in-app purchases and subscriptions
These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
We may disclose your information only in the following circumstances:
With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share your data.
Service Providers: To third-party service providers (Firebase, Google, Apple) that help us operate the app, subject to strict confidentiality agreements.
Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government regulation.
Protection of Rights: To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, or that of our users.
You can use NiceDriver without creating an account using Guest Mode. In Guest Mode:
All data is stored locally on your device only
No data is transmitted to cloud servers
No email or name is required
You can later migrate Guest Mode data to an account if you choose to sign in
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
Access: You can access all your trip data, vehicle information, and settings through the app.
Export: You can export your trip data and refueling records at any time using the app's export features.
Deletion: You can delete individual trips, vehicles, or refueling records at any time. You can also delete your entire account, which will remove all associated data.
Location Permissions: You can control location permissions through your device settings. Note that disabling location access will prevent trip tracking features from working.
Cloud Sync: You can enable or disable cloud sync at any time in app settings.
Account Management: You can update your account information, change authentication methods, or delete your account at any time.
NiceDriver is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately, and we will delete such information.
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. When we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information.
Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services to you.
Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, we delete your personal information and trip data. Some data may remain in backups for up to 30 days before permanent deletion.
Guest Mode: Data stored locally in Guest Mode remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:
Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Notifying you through the app or via email (if you have an account)
Your continued use of the app after such modifications constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
