On Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th June 2021 Niamh performed Wildfire Road written by Eve Leigh especially for The Northern School of Art graduate acting students. Niamh played the role of Jenny, one of the flight attendants. This show was performed at ARC Stockton and was streamed online
With her theatre company Menstrual Rage, Niamh has been working on a new adaptation of the famous Jane Austen novel Emma. Emma, a play by Emma Woodhouse is a 50 minute show that was first performed as part of the InterACT festival at ARC Stockton on May 12th. Playing the role of both Harriet and Mrs Elton Niamh has also played a huge part of the production of this show. This show is also going to be apart of Durham Fringe Festival in late July early August
During her third year at university, Niamh Nelson worked as a project leader on the piece Call to the Light, where she not only created the story and characters, she also voiced the characters of Lillian, Tiffany and Elix.
Call to the Light is a 40 minute radio play follows the story of two sisters who have a broken bond due to their fathers death. Tiffany, the older sibling, delves into the virtual world to try and regain the connection she once had with her sister Lola. Through trials and tribulations the two aim to beat the main villain, Sisuca.
Niamh also has also been working on a project directed by Nicole Cee Sian, Faith at play. Niamh plays the character of Janine in this short film. After wrapping this role Niamh will be featured in this film at the NEO Film Festival at ARC Theatre Stockton on June 10th 2021.
During her time at university Niamh began working on her solo show: A Quest for Normality. Her solo show delves into the mind of a teenager that finds them self stuck in a world of their own imagination and how they express it through cosplay and going to conventions. This piece investigates what is it to be normal and what people’s perception of normal is. Niamh's solo show also got chose to be placed online as part of the InterACT festival in 2020, which can be watched here. After this it was then chosen by ARC to be developed into a full solo show in which Niamh will be working on after she graduates.
