Join us at NH Trout Unlimited’s Youth Trout Camp! Our goal is to introduce youth to our cold-water fisheries and educate them about the challenges facing them. We mentor the next generation of conservationists, resource stewards and anglers.

The NH Youth Trout Camp is open to boys and girls beginning at age 13. Our progressive approach allows campers to build on their knowledge of fly fishing and conservation issues.
Camp costs are partially subsidized by Trout Unlimited NH Council, local Trout Unlimited Chapters and our generous sponsors and supporters.

Instruction consists of stream ecology, conservation, habitat restoration, casting instruction and fly tying;
NH Fish & Game biologists provide hands-on, in-stream habitat assessment;
On-stream fly fishing in the 'Trophy Waters' of the Connecticut River and the Ammonoosuc River and its tributaries;
A 1:1 student-to-councilor ratio;
All fly-fishing equipment is provided, including rods, fly tying kits, flies and more!
Includes lodging, three meals a day, and snacks.

OUR THREE-TIER APPROACH
We believe that fly fishing and resource stewardship are lifelong pursuits. Our camps provide opportunities for campers to continue their learning by building on prior experiences. And you will do plenty of fishing!
Campers will be introduced to the basics of fly fishing. You will learn basic casting techniques, tie simple but effective flies, participate in a conservation project, learn to identify fish and where to find them, and more. You will leave camp with a fly rod and reel, a fly tying kit and other accessories so you can continue to fish when you leave us. The experience and memories are priceless.
Campers who successfully complete Tier I are eligible to return the following year. You will learn more advanced fly fishing and tying skills and reinforce your Tier I learning on some of the best trout water in the northeast.
Campers who successfully complete Tier II and show an exemplary desire to share their knowledge with others may be invited to become CITs at future Tier I camps.
Building Community
In addition to time at camp, we offer opportunities to connect virtually during the off-season. We may "get together" to tie a fly, listen to a speaker, tell some stories or simply catch up with friends.

Fly fishing is a lifetime pursuit for those who commit to it. We want every kid to have the opportunity to attend Trout Camp and become part of the angling community, which means that affordability should not be a factor in the decision to apply. Thanks to our generous donors, we can offer financial assistance to those who need it.
The Cory Keane Fund, named in memory of one of the first Trout Campers and became an avid outdoorsman before his untimely passing, can help to offset the cost of camp for those who need a helping hand. Please send an email to nhtroutcamp@gmail.com. Your request will be handled in strict confidence.
