Spring Season

General information regarding the spring season!

The Team

• We usually have a few captains' practices in March to go over rules and information, and then we get on the water in late March/early April depending on the weather

• There will be a mandatory swim test if you haven't already had one whilst on the team

• Although the team is technically both JV and varsity, everyone generally practices and races together regardless of their varsity status (the practice days are somewhat split based on experience, as we typically have two days dedicated to new sailors and two dedicated to seasoned racers; however, this is not necessarily correlated with JV vs. varsity)

Practice

• Practices are every weekday but Wednesday, with the exception of race days

• Keep in mind that practice is often cancelled for weather, so check your emails!

• Practice starts right after school and ends around 5:30 PM

• It is mandatory that every sailor attends at least two practices a week, and please make sure to email Coach Elizabeth or the captains if you're unable to come!

CBI Races

• Weekdays (typically once a week as the season gets going)

• Our bus leaves for CBI at 2:30 PM and returns to Natick around 7:30 PM

Regattas

• Usually on weekends or long weekends

• Tend to be all-day events

• Bus leaves the NHS senior parking lot early in the morning (no later than 8:00 AM) and returns late afternoon (usually between 5:00 - 6:00 PM) depending on the specific event
