Membership
The National Honor Society chapter of Hamilton Southeastern High School is a duty chartered and affiliated chapter through NASSP. Membership is open to students who meet the required standards in four areas of evaluation: character, scholarship, leadership, and service.
The application becomes available around March 1 for incoming junior and senior students every year and closes at the end of March.
Announcements for the open application are available through the Parent Newsletter, Student Class of Canvas page, and HSE News, Flyers, and more!
Application Process

Only HSE Students will be able to receive access to the form.
Aquire 3 teacher recommendation Forms
Pick these up from Lawhead (F218) Morgan (F236) Richardson (F245) or download + print
Deliver recommendation forms to 3 teachers to fill out by March 28th
Your Teachers will turn in your forms for you.

Membership requirements have been updated for the 2024-2025 school year.
In order for you to join, you must meet the following requirements:
You must be an incoming junior or senior at HSE HS for the 2024-25 school year
Maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA (this includes the weighted grades from weighted classes)
Acceptable attendance and discipline record
Once accepted in the Fall of 2024:
pay the $20 membership annual dues
MUST complete 20 community service hours every school year and submitting your hours through our Canvas Course Page during the school year. Deadlines for submission will be announced via HSE News and through Remind.
Attend the induction ceremony that is held in September
Participate in our annual Adopt a Family event
Maintain high standards of the 4 pillars of NHS: scholarship, service, character, and leadership.
Note: Meeting requirements on a yearly basis is required by the National Charter and HSE High School. Attendance, Discipline, and GPA records will be checked every semester. Students who fail to meet our guidelines may be removed from NHS. New members will receive more information during our monthly meetings.
