Speech and Debate is an invaluable activity for our children, and while we have the benefit of superb coaches, running the program requires parental support. There is a need to provide consistent and predictable adult support of the Needham High School Speech & Debate team. Our students’ participation in regional and national tournaments presents specific responsibilities that must be met in order for the team to succeed.
There are commitments necessary to be a contributing part of speech & debate. We need many judges due to the tournament's in-person format. You will need to drive students to tournaments and travel to judge. You only have to be present for the sessions you are judging for. We will provide more details at our parent meeting.
