The NHI-SLSTR system provides information about active volcanoes in near real time (NRT) on a global scale using SWIR bands at 500 m spatial resolution. Note that false positives may occur because of fires and other factors (e.g., snow-covered surfaces). The total FRP values are computed after using a filtering procedure for pixel duplication effects and invalid FRP data.
The NHI-SLSTR hotspot products (including additional information) may be downloaded using the credentials reported below. Products provide information about volcanic thermal features detected over the last 0-6 hours (red dots) and 6-24 hours (orange dots).
