Tournament rounds begin on Tuesday, Oct. 21. Tournament Information can be found at the NHIAA Tournament Central. Brackets should be posted sometime on Monday. Overall standings for Field Hockey can be found HERE.
Be sure to read the OT for Tournament as it is different than the regular season OT, as there must be a team to move forward. HERE is the Tournament OT Procedure.
Be sure to review these notes. You also received this in your email from nhfhumpires@gmail.com. Bulletins will also be on the Interpreter's Corner page.
Here is the link for the 2025 Regular Season OT procedures...same as last year. You should print a copy of this or have ready access on your phone for this information. The copy can also be found on Interpreter's Corner.
Notes from the Supervisor
The season has started off well. Thanks to all of you for your reports concerning field
conditions, coach behavior and player behavior. Most of these issues have been
resolved through communication with the NHIAA. There are two issues that I would like
to address.
The deadline for taking and passing the NFHS Field Hockey test is September 20. Not everyone has taken the test, which is a requirement for eligibility with our organization as well as the NHIAA. If you are having issues with the test, please contact me immediately so I can help.
Recently, I have received several complaints regarding rough or unsafe behavior from players. Please use your card progression for these incidences. A green card early on usually serves to quiet things down. Don’t be afraid to use the yellow card if the green card doesn’t work. Any physical foul should result in a yellow card. Again, feel free to contact me to discuss carding protocol or concerns.
Good luck in the rest of your season. I will be sending out availability for playoffs the last
week of September.
Please use THIS FORM for Casey Chaput, our Interpreter this year. This form can also be used throughout the season for rule questions and will be found on the Interpreter's Corner page. during the season. Casey will be sending out rule updates about every 2 weeks. Also on the Interpreter's Corner the FIH, NCAA and NFHS Rule Comparison Table...Check it out if you're a college official.
It makes everyone's job easier when your Arbiter dates and availability are correct. Please do this small thing to help Kati and Kate out.
College officials: make sure your college games are blocked for high school in Arbiter. Note, high school finals are set for Saturday 11/1 at 3pm, 5pm, 7pm.
Complete the New Official Form, also found on the New Officials Information page, if you are interested in becoming an official. We will be in touch as training opportunities become available.
Great news, no changes from last year!!! 🎉 You can wear USA Raspberry, Kukri Yellow, or Hagan Yellow shirts, provided you match your partner. The only shirts available for purchase going forward are the Hagan shirts (link here).
The high school Hagan shirt is the yellow shirt with the black panels. However, the Hagan yellow shirt with the blue panels (worn at the college level) is acceptable for high school, too.
Due to the limited availability of the Raspberry and Kukri shirts, the NHFHUA has elected to add the Hagan Yellow with Black insert as another option for officials. The yellow is available in both short and long sleeve. Jackets and other apparel are also available through Hagan's. The yellow with black inserts are worn at USA events and for umpiring collegiate games. These shirts can be purchased through USA Field Hockey supplier Hagancustomsports.com. The Executive Board does have some raspberry and Kukri shirts available that will be reserved for new incoming officials.
Yellow Hagan with Black Insert Cost is $42.99
Here's the Amazon link to purchase. In this order they come with the headsets, a bonus.
If you are new to the organization and have any questions about any of the above or if you know someone interested in officiating, please don't hesitate to contact us! You can email us at nhfhumpires@gmail.com for any questions.
