Are You Interested in Becoming an Official?  Summer Training begins in June!

There will be summer training at the Seacoast fields in Epping and in the Colby Sawyer area.  Now is the time to sign up!  Training will incorporate learning the rules and on the field training with an experienced official during the low key summer high school games.  If you or someone you know, is interested in becoming an official, fill out our New Officials Information form.  Laura Zakorchemny is our Training Chair and will be contacting interested candidates.  Officiating is a great way to be involved in the game you love and stay in shape!  And you get paid doing the things you enjoy....a great game with lots of collaborative people around you.

Preparing for the Season

Dues 

$90 for regular members DUE BY 6/30/24.  Payable my check to NHFHUA, c/o Sammie Luker, 1147 Belmont St.  Manchester NH 03104.  You may also Venmo, check your email from Sammie for info.

If you are NOT officiating for 2024 season, let Kati and Sammie know.

NHIAA Registration is Open

You must register with the NHIAA by 6/30/24 - you cannot be assigned games without being registered with the NHIAA.  Paid through Arbiter, click on the NHIAA account, Central Hub link.  At the top of the page you will see the Registration tab.  Click there and follow prompts.

For insurance coverage purposes for you and our board, you MUST join NHIAA OR USA Field Hockey to be assigned games. 

Assigning 

We are currently looking for someone to help Kati with the assigning responsibilities.  It is a big job and we need someone to help with emails and middle school assigning.  Contact Kati if interested.

Also, it is time to start updating your Arbiter calendar.  This must be kept up throughout the season to assist Kati with assignments.  It is very frustrating for someone to show open but when contacted the answer is sorry...  We need to do a better job at this.  

Annual Meeting and Test

Thursday, August 22, at 7:00pm via Zoom.  You have an invite on your calendar.  Test information will be released as it becomes available.  

Rating and Service Days

Mark these dates on your calendar - Friday 8/23 @ Plymouth and Saturday, 8/24 @ Dover and Souhegan.  Look for an email from Libby or Terry with rating and service information.  Thank you to Terry Kukesh for joining our Rating Committee to help out. 

New Shirt Option for 2024

Due to the limited availability of the Raspberry and Kukri shirts, the NHFHUA has elected to add the Hagan Yellow with Black insert as another option for officials.  The yellow is available in both short and long sleeve.  Officials may wear any of the colored shirts we have available, but umpires must have matching shirts when on the field.  Communication before a game will be helpful for umpires to manage this.  Jackets and other apparel are also available through Hagan's.  The yellow with black inserts are worn at USA events and for umpiring collegiate games.  These shirts can be purchased through USA Field Hockey supplier Hagancustomsports.com.  The Executive Board does have some raspberry and Kukri shirts available that will be reserved for new incoming officials.

  • Day: Mondays, 6/24-8/5, skipping 7/1

  • Time: 4pm-9pm (5 game slots, games start on the hour)

  • Pay: $45/game

• Colby Sawyer Summer High School League - Colby Sawyer - Training Opportunity

  • Day: Mondays 7/1-8/12

  • Time: 6-8pm (2 game slots). Also 1 game at 6pm at Proctor Academy.

  • Pay: $23/game

• Cave Girl Summer High School/College League - Souhegan HS

  • Day: Tuesdays 6/18-8/6, skipping 7/2

  • Time: 6-9pm (7v7 mini game format; 6-9 or 7-9 slots available. Final hour is college play.)

  • Pay: $40/hour

• Oyster River Summer High School League - Oyster River HS

  • Day: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6/25 through 8/1

  • Time: 5-7pm (2 game slots per night)

• Seacoast Summer Adult League - Epping, NH

  • Day: Wednesdays 6/19-8/7, skipping 7/3. Note, one week is Friday (6/14).

  • Time: 6:30-9:30pm (3 game slots)
